He has let the cat out of the bag, the lockdown is a farce .
It's not that it's a farce, it's just it had to be implemented quickly. Blanket rules had to come in as there was no time to incorporate nuance or common sense. I'm sure most people have done something that isn't within the rules but also carried relatively low risk. Coming out of lockdown will involve us slowly introducing common sense into the equation. I do understand why we've had to be told to fully lockdown in the meantime though.

We really have made a complete and utter mess of this. I don't even know why I'm surprised to be honest. Incompetent leadership from the start with the wait and see mentality while everyone else was shutting up shop. Add in the ridiculously idiotic and selfish population we have in this country who just refused to stay indoors and it's no surprise we're first place for deaths in Europe.
And we are now trying to fast track re-opening the country when we should be waiting on the science and getting a vaccination sorted first. So I think we can say thousands more people are going to die needlessly from this.

Getting some good solid data coming in now with some widespread studies. This German study has found 15% of people have had it and 22% get no symptoms. Mortality rate of 0.36%.

Interesting about the chances of infecting someone in the same house is low. I know of 2 families where 1 of them have had it and the other didn't despite living and sleeping together.
