Just to remember there are people behind these numbers

The elderly parents of a nurse who died after contracting coronavirus have both died from the bug.Keith Dunnington, 54, had been on the NHS frontline for more than 30 years when he was struck down by Covid-19 on April 19

His 81-year-old mum Lillian died on Friday holding hands with her husband, Keith’s dad Maurice,he had been brought to her bedside from his ward by hospital staff,he then died over the weekend

So sad....what a shit world it is at the moment.

Unless people are like me and still have uncertainties.
Are the ones who can pass on the virus all of those who have been infected or just the ones.who are unaffected ie carriers.
They think kids are carriers of sorts ,they can get it and they can get symptoms but not much aside from the rare ones who have died, most people get no symptoms or get a mild/moderate illness that they might not think is covid, they are passing it on without knowing ,that is why everyone is on some kind of lockdown,we are protecting each other,to illustrate the point

The daughter whose mum died and her dad is battling it

Mrs Wright died at Furness General Hospital in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, last Wednesday after battling the virus for days. She and her husband caught the illness even though they hadn't left their house for weeks, said Mrs Buchanan

They were, however, visited by care workers and medical professionals while they were shielding, she added

Those visiting wouldn't have gone if they had symptoms, they would have been at home isolating but clearly somebody had it but didn't know it,one of the keys going forward is to find out how many have it with no symptoms

NZ population 4.8 million density 18 p/km^2
UK population 67.9 million density 281 p/km^2

Fucking desperate comparison.

it’s a ridiculous comparison. 5m people a day can use the London Underground. Try putting the population of New Zealand on the tube for two weeks with a few infections and see how they are at the end.

The Government is to drop its "Stay Home" message this weekend after Public Health England told councils to prepare to remove the slogan from websites this weekend.

Reports in the telegraph.....

Then it will be another lot of mixed messages, both boris and hancock say it is too soon to lift restrictions too much

Both.
Infected can pass it on through coughing and touch.
Un-infected can pick up virus off surfaces and spread it.

I see Jenrick is doing today’s briefing.
I do hope a journo asks if Hancock recommended the police investigate him after his second home trips like he has for Ferguson.

God imagine the scenes outside of pubs with people trying to get in and not taking no for an answer. Gonna be minging. Hordes of people stood outside the pub moaning.
I’ve got money tied into a couple of bars in Spain and I’ve told my partners that we aren’t opening next week. Will be closer to mid June before we give the go ahead.

I fear we’re going to make an already shit situation even worse by easing restrictions just because others around Europe are.

Germany for example have afforded themselves that position by how they’ve managed to deal with it, we don’t have that luxury.

Arguably the ‘lockdown’ needs to be increased but I think the pressure from various places will mean we start to ease off.

You guys just carry on thinking Boris and Hancock are doing a great job.

I never said their figures were comparable. What is comparable is the reaction to the virus. If they had acted as we have they would be looking at much larger figures.

The point is she wouldn't have done that. She'd have closed the tube.
