We must be extremely confident of CAS overturning the ban if we're turning our nose up at 35 million.
Leroy must be confident too, he’ll probably be sat on his arse for another season if we’re banned. He’d be worth much more to Bayern than us in those circumstances than to us, and they’re not known for paying more than they want to.

Not sure about that logic chief.
What do you mean?
We’ve paid him for a x year contract, he will have complete it so he has given us the value we paid for.

money Bayern “might” pay us cannot be classed as a loss because it doesn’t exist.

It's pretty straightforward. Players under contract that other clubs want to buy are valuable assets. Therefore, if we realize $0 on our asset, instead of the 50m or so that we can probably sell him for this summer, we've lost out on that value.

Prob lost about £90m i reckon? we’ll do well to get £40m for him now, writings been on the wall for last 12mths when he refused to sign new deal, rumours of a £90k week pay rise? german rags showed him the bigger picture at that min in my opinion? shown signs of being world class but very inconsistent, wish him well he gave us some good moments, but i only want players who want to play for city & its blatantly obv sane hasn’t/doesn’t want to for last 12mths or so

Loss of value is not a loss of money and the two are not interchangeable.
Also, in this case, everyone’s valuation of Leroy is different, city’s, Bayern’s, yours, mine etc.
If city valued Leroy at £50mil you value him at £100mil is that still a loss?
No because that extra £50mil doesn’t actually exist

A new offer has been on the table for 2 years now, he's probably lost £6 million plus in that time. Unless his injury or the CV19 virus has changed his thinking for any reason we can consider him already gone.

We should release a statement saying we are very disturbed by the constant tapping up of one of our players by Bayern Munich and will be reporting them to uefa (yes I know!)
We should say that his value is £80m and unless that is what they offer he will fulfil the last yeAr of his contract
Any further tapping up and we will take legal action
They did same with boateng
Time we stopped being nice

As big a talent Sane is, and as much as I've enjoyed watching him play for us, I'm beyond caring. I find Sane utterly disrespectful that he's stayed silent whilst running his contract down so Munich can get him on the cheap or for free in a year's time. I'd get what we can this summer and get rid of a player who clearly doesn't want to be here.

It’s all a game
Munich saying 35m is just to make 60m look a decent bid
We should say 80m then sit back
They will keep upping it
Look st Sanchez, if they don’t do the deal real or Barca can come in January and offer big wages
He will go but just a question of what we take

I get what you mean, but I look at it simplistically. Sell him this summer and we have 40/50 million to re invest in players. Wait a year and we don’t get anything for him. One year we have 50 million, next year we get nothing. Spin it any way you like but that’s 50 million we could have for a player who doesn’t want to be here.

Agree with you just think we have to pick a fee we feel he is worth and stick to our guns

I’ve got nothing against Sane and if he wants to leave I wish him well. However, Bayern are a bunch of ****s and I wouldnt even give them the steam off my piss. In this saga and when they previously signed Boateng, they waltzed in like we owed them something and thought they had a god given right to get the players on their terms.

If Sane gets made an example of for us to stick it to Bayern then so be it. I’d actually offer him to every major European side for £60/70 million aside from Bayern. If Bayern want him they can pay an £80 million, call it a **** tax. Hazard who is older than Sane went for a much higher fee to Madrid when he had a year left on his contract.

I’d also offer Sane a new deal with a clause that allows him to sign for Bayern for £80 million at any point. If he refuses to sign the deal or move anywhere else other than Bayern, they let him rot in the reserves for the next year.

Contracts are a two way street and whilst I don’t like to see any player missing two years of first team football, players should not take the piss by accepting deals with other clubs and disrespecting their current club in the process, especially when the club have supported him through a serious injury.

I think we will look at Sane playing for Bayern in 3/4 years time in the Champions League and think "wow, he played for us".

But it is weird as i'm not bothered if he goes now. Wish him well though. Been a huge part in two title wins and will make a profit on him.

virtually all the players that leave us i have wished well - but not with Sane - i think his disrespect for the club and manager has ben awful - his silence was deafening - he could have just come out and said i want to leave and go to Bayern but he just sat there and did/said nothing.

It is clear that there is an arrogance there as he is clearly not ready to fight for a regular starting place (just like Sancho in my opinion but obviously Sane is further along in his development) and thinks he just deserves to play over Sterling, Bernardo, Mahrez - all who have also adapted their game (along with Kun) to fit what Pep wants where as (and there have been many examples) Sane cannot (or will not) follow what Pep wants him to do and he has to get regular bollockings from the sidelines - his ego cannt take this. Compare it to Jesus a well who will sit patiently and wait his chance, play a variety of positions and roles and runs his bollock off to help the team - none of which Sane is willing to do. He is a twt and i dont think Ive ever said that about one of our plaes before - I have slated loads for lack of ability/not being good enough but nothing abuot them personally (maybe Barton)

Another fucking stupid statement driven by ignorance with no facts. For all you know he might have sick parents, grandparents or other relatives that he would like to spend more time with. He might prefer to bring his kid up in Germany, he might just not like the English lifestyle, he may want to be closer to his friends; we have no idea.

Publicly saying he wants to leave will do one thing and one thing only; reduce our negotiating power. So he's done absolutely the right thing and kept quiet to protect the clubs investment. By not signing a new contract he leaves his options open. As a young man he may change his mind, he may not, who cares, it's his decision. If he plays out the remainder of the season he's done exactly what we signed him to do, play well and win trophies over the 5 year period he signed his original contract to do.

Our ‘fans’ make me laugh. We sign a player with no affiliation with the club, he helps us win titles and now when he wants to return home we don’t wish him well. Doolally

We have no idea, yet you make up half a dozen strawmen arguments to justify your take and that's fine...
