Undermining the government by having an opinion ? The last slogan was perfect so no not undermining at every step,it is not up to me to explain something that makes no sense to me

Karen we cannot keep everyone locked in their houses until there is a vaccine. Stay home may make sense but it cannot go on forever

there will be no NHS, no benefits system and no future when we come out of it

he is speaking at 7 have a listen to a bit more of the detail and the official press releases , rather than the two words.

It’s not fucking rocket science, or brain surgery - the message has to change as we are trying to get some people back to work to kickstart the economy, so it’s “stay home IF YOU CAN”.

I think, despite clarifications since, people have decided that lockdown will be relaxed and that since we have been told we are over the worst, we can take it easy a bit. On our street everyone came out for VE Day onto their driveway or front garden, keeping away from everyone else and just waving. Kids were a problem but by and all they were kept in their households. However that same evening we went out for a walk with the kids through Heaton Moor Golf Course and there were people sunbathing, sat in groups, playing football that were clearly not from the same household. And last night on our way back from our daily walk it seemed like some of our neighbours had decided that sitting in the front garden drinking was quite good, except this time they had loads more people than they had on VE Day. I don't want to be judgemental because lockdown actually is quite tough, despite some people saying its easy because all you do is not go out. But IMHO the messages coming out from the govt are confusing and the tone seems to have changed somewhat, which has trickled down to the public.

When have said we have to keep people at home ? Never,he has been tweeting out the slogan,it shouldn't need explaining, the papers have been told there is a traffic light system amongst other things,keep it simple ffs

Let's just wait and see what he says tonight, but if he's not looking to get some people back to work then this slogan should not have been touched as it's not worth confusing people. The fact that Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland aren't changing it is also a bit worrying, as the PM surely met with them to discuss what the new plan was. If they think it's not much different to where we are now, why change the slogan? And if the new plan is quite a bit different, then why haven't they all changed their slogan as well?

I keep saying, it's not how many die, it's making sure not being able to access appropriate care wasn't the reason.
2000 people a day could die in the second wave and as long as the hospitals are not overrun, it should still be viewed that we are managing it.

This is shit virus, and people were always going to die. Until a vaccine is available, it will keep killing.
Countries that locked down early and hard have just kicked the can down the road. As they attempt to start their economies, the infection rates will just keep coming.
We all will have had the same pain eventually, just some countries like us have had it hard and early. Praising other countries just yet is way to premature.

My only fear is people in this country flaunting the new rules out today and allowing the infection rate to overwhelm the hospitals.
I just cannot see people obeying a second stricter lockdown...

Thise 5 pieces of advice are the same as last week, so people are wondering why change the slogan at all and cause uneccesary confusion amongst those that won't see the oficial government website or any of it's social media post, just a slogan at the tv briefings.

Just seems a pointless operation just to look like they are doing something.

Doyou feel we now need 2 slogans, 1 for the "stay alert" workers returning to still dangerous world. The other of "stay at home" for the older and vulnerable still in their own homes.

there probably is a traffic light system, gov guidance on a variety of things but all these things the press are releasing are guesses leaks or made up. Best wait until 7 .

I know Sturgeon is a "marmite" politician and a lot of people don't like her but I think she has played a blinder during this Covid crisis and her briefings have been a class above what we have suffered on this side of the border. Whatever you think of her politics she is a very effective leader and her message and "no fuss" style has been excellent.

If this lockdown carries on we are going to lose more people out of poverty because many businesses are on a knife edge of going under, no jobs no money mass poverty. I don't really understand why people can't see that being alert is just that, alert to the fact that we have a dangerous virus that can kill you if you do not take the necessary steps, we had a slogan in my previous employment Stay Alert Stay Alive and fuck if you wasn't alert like this virus you could end up being dead.
