COVID-19 — Coronavirus

That's funny I prefer him now. Probably something to do with our respective political positions!
The last couple of years though have been endless Brexit and now COVID, it’s not particularly what I like to listen to first thing in a morning.

Does the virus only infect people who have face to face chats for 15 minutes?

What about 14 minutes? Would that be ok?

The government's rules on this are fucking absurd.
Take a stop watch and start to say your goodbyes after about 14minutes and 45seconds, you’ll be sure to be safe then!

See ryanair have openly communicated that its important they get familys on their holidays before schools go back in September,

40% of summer schedule be live from July 1st? I thought Hancock stated usual international summer holidays highly unlikely?

On BBC News this afternoon, they mentioned not to expect any international travel at all in 2020.

Can airlines just open up ticketing and sell flights from July 1st then later cancel back due to government guidance then keep cashflow it brings by making cash refunds very difficult to process and time consuming?

It's crackers that almost two months into this people are looking to Boris and the government for some kind of advice what to do health wise. The advice hasn't really changed and it won't change until the virus dies out, an effective treatment is found or a vaccine created. Just keep distance and avoid people as much as possible, wash hands regularly and if you can get a mask wear it on transport and any crowded areas. The business and work angle I understand people following but the reality is while the virus is here everything carries a risk save sitting indoors.

You're right. It was a relief when Brexit ended, if that's the right word. Little did we know that within weeks we'd forget all about Farage, the EU, and referendums! Hopefully this won't be so long running.

There’s plenty on here who need calling a **** more often than that!! I think a few also need to take some time out from this thread at times, always seems to be the same people posting

well, not sure why you are complaining, he technically got a time out from the thread.

If you are interested in what is happening in the hospitals there are several good programmes following the staff about ,bbc 2 have two programmes Hospital special :fighting covid, one in catch up and tonite is on at the moment

It puts faces to the numbers and to see what the team's do to keep people alive is brilliant to see and it is informative as to the new things they are finding covid is coming up with, things they haven't dealt with before but they find a way,it is good to learn the facts rather than just reading various opinions on it

Exactly. It’s not rocket science.

It's like some think jolly Boris is going to stand there, chortle, clap his hands and say everything's open go and get pissed and grab a kebab on the way home.

It's like seeing parents and families. If you can get into their garden without going through the house and keep at least six feet apart why not meet them for a chat? The hapless Hancock doesn't help, you would be better off watching Hancock's comedy half hour than listening to him at times.

It was worst case if we did nothing,it should not be used now as a look how well we have done,i think it was whitty who said keeping it to 20,000 would be a good job,the question is /should be around that number
Absolutely agreed. I think we've done a pretty poor job overall. I don't blame anyone in particular - no-one's been trying to be incompetent and no-one's been negligent or bone idle. I just think we've had a very, very difficult set of circumstances to deal with and have made some poor decisions.

You ever thought about a career in politics?

You’re right though, it’s just like when I go to see my mum to deliver shopping, she stays in the conservatory, they’ve opened the back gate before I arrive so I don’t have to touch anything, I then stand in the garden and have a chat for 10 mins and usually take one of my kids with me so she can see a grand child too. Simple common sense.

Some people being interviewed have been complaining that there hasn't been enough detail being given about their particular circumstances. There are 60 million people in this country do they expect him to provide specific answers to everyone's issues.

As M18CITD says it's not rocket science, just use some common sense

But breaking all the rules as per hancock

Asked if someone could meet a friend in their garden, as long as distancing rules were adhered to, Mr Hancock told BBC Breakfast: "It's not necessarily more safe than meeting in a park, and we said that should only happen in public places

Plus only one person should meet one person at a time
