Deal agreed with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane - €60m (including add-ons)

That's up to him then, as I say he'll go where he wants to go.
He'll go where he wants to go, but unless the price is right for City, he might not go when he wants to go. He is still under contract. He might get to where he wants 12 months later than anticipated having spent 24 months training on his own. Him and his agent need to be careful.

Signing a 1 year extension at City might be the best option they have, given the current climate.

If Bayern really want him, they can pay for him

He might but I doubt it and expect we'll sell this summer in the £50 mill region give or take £5 mill.

Sané's agent has said there are a number of absolute top clubs interested and they aren't out of the question.

Now that debunks the myth that he wants to go home for whatever reason. Seems to me he just wants out of City, because he's a mard arse who doesn't want to fight for his place.

Probably something more like he's trying to push the German Rags into stop pissing about and actually make a move with a bid that isn't laughable

that's why he needs to be careful. They are pissing about with a lot of talk.

If I were him I'd give strong consideration to signing a one year extension, if Bayern want him as much as they say they do, they'll pony up. If not, he could be absolutely fucked, considering he's coming off a bad injury and the current covid situation. The worst thing for the player is if Bayern force him to run his contract down. He'll have missed on 2 years of football at 23/24. That's very hard to come back from

Acceptable to who? Those that balance the books wiil have to decide . If the the choice is £50 mill now or £0 next summer I know which side I'm betting on.
So City would have balanced the books on the player,by looking at his contract over the 5 years, the books would not include a potential transfer as that isn't money they have or can anticipate having. Effectively letting Leroy run down his contract costs the club nothing.

Letting him go for a perceived loss, which 50 million would be including salary and development, recovery etc would be terrible business. It would be a terrible message to send out also, that players can just run their contracts down at City and you get them on the cheap. We already get fucked with a City premium in the buyers market. We can't allow ourselves to be bullied in the sellers market too.

I realize that seems contradictory, but football business is different than normal business.

Ok. we're back to this are we.

If someone bids more than Bayern, do you think Sane should be rewarded with an easy transfer to Bayern, because that's what he wants?
If he only wants to go to Bayern, then no one else will make an offer anyway, so our hands are tied. We'll have a minimum valuation which I personally think like @blueparrot said will be closer to £50m (I think £70/80m is wildly optimistic in today's circumstances, although I hope you're right).

The alternative is to keep an unhappy player, piss off the rest of the squad if we make him train with the reserves or on his own (as @tolmie's hairdoo alluded to yesterday when he said how popular Sane is among the group and they don't want to see him banished) and lose us between £50-60m if you include transfer fee and wages we'll have to pay to see out his contract.

What you're saying doesn't make sense, it's all based on emotion and sadly football is a business first and foremost these days. Don't get me wrong there's shit that really pisses me off (Walker) but cold light of day, I know what's going to happen and it isn't what my gut said at the time which was sacking the ****.

You're whole argument is based on the emotional feeling of professional footballers. You think they'll be so pissed off that a player who wants to leave the group, desperately, it seems, on his terms will get to sit out a year on a massive wage.

I can assure you now, the rest of the squad won't give a nominal fuck. Professional footballers, fuck it professional sportsmen are incredibly self centred, because they have to be.

The notion they'll down tools or other players won't join is fanciful, at best

It isnt exactly the same situation and I generally agree but it can, and has happened before.

If that's what you think of a whole industry of footballers/sportsmen then you're fucking pathetic and not worth any further discussion. There's a small minority in any group, in any industry, in any society who are self centred wankers and sportsmen may have a higher proportion than other groups but it still doesn't make your statement any less narrow minded and just sad really that you think in such a negative way.

The truth hurts bro. They aren't all as nice as you read in the papers.

You got caught out in your argument and you've resorted to lashing out.

Who is emotional now?

No more self centred than your average bear. Just like any other workplace everyone is there for the $$$. Those who are close to him will be sorry to see him go but colleagues moving on is part of the territory.

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has expressed surprise after 24-year-old Germany and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, said he would rather move abroad than to the German champions.

More evidence that the German Rags expect to cherrypick and control the German transfer market. Clearly Werner can forget his NT ambitions if he doesn’t do the right thing and beg to join the Bavarian mafia.

You proved you only read what you want to read yesterday, despite several posters highlighting your mistake you just started arguing with them too. Thanks for the laughs and have a good evening.

It doesn't matter who offers what; if he wants to go to Bayern, he'll go to Bayern.

Maybe but not surely.

Bayern Top paid footballer is Lewandowski with salary of 270 Pound.

There could be top clubs who are willing to pay him more salary considering they will not pay any transfer fee.

Lewandowski is on somewhere around 20m/yr+ since his he extended last summer. In the summer reports said Bayern allegedly offered Sané somewhere around 15m-17m/yr.
