Holiday advice

I’m supposed to be flying to Lisbon for family hols in the summer holidays. I’ll happily still travel as long as don’t have to quarantine when there if I’m not eligible for refund, I’m not kissing bye to 2k, fuck that.
Seems a bit daft,if say your going on a 2 week holiday to Portugal you quarantine for 2 weeks then return home, how does it work if your only going for a week ?
I’m meant to be going Portugal end of September, not sure if I should change flights to say end of April beginning of may next year or hold fire and see if things get back to some sort of normality...

There won’t be a quarantine in Portugal come the summer.

In case anyone is considering going to Portugal this summer the draft for the beach rules to be imposed have been released and the definitive list out on June 6th:-

  • Sunshades are to be 3 metres from each other, with no more than five people under one at any one time
  • Beachgoers have to keep a 1.5 meter distance between each other at all times (unless they are part of the same group)
  • People have to keep to delineated ‘corridors’ when walking along the beach, one for one direction, one for another.
  • There is to be no parking outside of car parks
  • No sports, other than ‘nautical activities, surf classes and similar sports’
  • Masks mandatory when entering beach bars/ beach restaurants
  • Regular hand disinfection – this is mandatory “on arrival at the beach
  • Anyone renting a sun-lounger will only be able to do so for half a day (ie a morning or an afternoon), the idea being that this will give others the chance to go to the same beach on that particular day
  • Rules for beach concessions involve regular cleaning of sun-loungers and equipment throughout the day.

Sounds great!

I wouldn't step onto a plane for anybody right now, I'm surprised border's are being opened, ours have been shut for months now and I don't expect they will be opening before September. Maybe even longer.

Btw. People who are awaiting a refunds for holidays there are apparently scammers ringing people up to get bank details.

Been unable to get through to TUI on the phone for best part of a week now so decided to email them. Found an address and wrote a strongly worded email, pinged it off and thought I’d cracked it until......

I can see that this is going to cause lots of problems for people. If you have a holiday booked to Spain in July, they say they are open and you can go plus the airlines are flying to the destinations its going to end up being put on us as to whether to go isnt it.

Yes.
If the FO lift the travel advisory against Spain.
And you’ll need to book another fortnight for the quarantine here when you get back!
I’m in the same position for a trip to the Veneto in August.
At least I’m retired so a two week quarantine on return means naff all to me.

2 hours 20 minutes and resolved.. I hope.
Been told to expect payment within 7/10 days.
Just hang on in there.
If you paid a deposit then balance apparently Will get 2 separate payments back.

Just cancelled my accommodation Salou, was booked for the 21st July. Booked though Travel Replublic. For some strange reason they have not taken the flight amount of £600 that was due weeks ago. So only lost £40 of a £3k holiday. Was no way we were going to travel.

We live in times of great uncertainty and on a personal level couldn't give a rats arse the lad has been a Blue since an early age, because all that denotes is that he has made the right choice and a sensible choice by supporting the only team to come from Manchester. I am more concerned about the decisions he is making Right Now !!! as this will define him for who and or what he is and just like elephants consumers never forget. A budget airline that has propelled him to immense success by affording cheap pricing for the common man and love him or hate him his Airline did what it said on the tin. At this moment in time he courts himself little favour by his dastardly play on the situation, espousing folk can have a refund only when Covid's at at an end and not until. Airlines continually bleat and whine about difficult trading platforms but what about the ordinary man in the street, are things not difficult for everyone with furloughing, layoffs and redundancies. You behavioral traits Michael not only leave a bad taste in the mouth but are also in breach of the law. #WearewatchingyouO'Leary

The current playing field below and we will remember !

I do understand why people wont travel this year.

As for me if it is at all possible I will be off on a jaunt at the earliest possible opportunity more so if O,Leary decides to offer some cheap flights. July is a bit hot in most places but bollocks to it, I am up for it. Spain Portugal or Eastern Europe all good for me.
