Holiday advice

Purely out of interest, is anybody hopeful of a European get away in August and September should travel restrictions be lifted and destinations welcome UK visitors without quarantine?
We’re due to go zante 16th aug, tui saying holiday still going ahead, I’m still expecting it to be cancelled, but it’s looking slightly less likely day by day with Greece now welcoming tourists, don’t really want to lose £3,000 so might have to go? Our gov’s quarrantine laws might be my saviour tho

EasyJet continuing to amend and increase their schedule - esp from Belfast with Gatwick, Edinburgh and Faro added today.

Jet2 have been really good with us.

We were due to go to Tossa De Mar with them for 10 days on 22nd June, so we were waiting and hoping they'd expand their cancellations further than the 17th June which they had penciled in.

The missus received notification that it has now been cancelled and Jet2 gave her a call yesterday to discuss the options, but to save on the faff my missus told them straight away that I was high risk (I have Asthma) and so we don't want to rebook until this is all over. No problems at all, no trying anything on, they just put a refund in straight away.

We'll be more than happy to book this holiday with them again in a couple of years time.

I’ve got 2 flights with Air France for end of July for missus and daughter to go to Paris, which was supposed to be a trip with the dance school to Disney. The Disney part has already been cancelled separately but I’m left with the 2 flights. Laughable part is they were supposed to be flights on FlyBe, which went tits, but fortunately/unfortunately I’d booked through Air France which means they transferred the flights to their own planes at different times which wouldn’t have worked for us on the Disney trip anyway, lol. Madness that it would have been better for me to have booked with FlyBe as I’d have been able to reclaim via PayPal, whereas now I’ll probably have to accept a travel voucher instead from Air France.

I’ve requested a refund but will have to wait to see outcome.

Isn't there a fair chance they would be running flights by then? Would they still give vouchers?

That’s why I’ve processed my request now, in case they remove the option. I fall within their current t’s and c’s of requesting refund/vouchers so considering we have no use for the trip anyway then I thought it was prudent to apply for it now.

Simply cannot get through to TUI on the phone. Been trying for over a week now. Can’t even get to bring out on hold as the message says ‘Sorry. We’re too busy. Ring back another time.’

Resorted to sending them a DM basically saying this is me trying to contact you and will be keeping this as evidence to show I have tried if/when they play silly buggers with the amendment/refund.

Got a friend in a similar position. They need to change it so that everyone can amend their booking online, regardless of how the initial booking was made.

At least for a holiday originally booked online you need to wait for the refund credit note to be sent, then when that is received by email go to the website and put in a cash refund request on a page they have set up. That page was a little difficult to find though.

I got my refund credit note 12 days after I was due to fly out. I'll let you know when the cash is back in my account, they confirmed the request might take 4 weeks.

Any one using charge back?
I did a chargeback request at the end of March.
After receiving no reply from the credit card by the 8th week I downloaded the deadlock template letter off MSE forum giving the CC company 14 days to reply before I referred it to the ombudsman.
Sent it a week ago.
Money back on my credit card on Tuesday.
Persevere folks, persevere.

BA have cancelled the 3 flights I'd booked for Turkey. No online cash refund option. Looks like Monday's going to be a long day spent on the phone.

I’m supposed to be flying to Stockholm, of all places lol, in 3 weeks time. Still no cancellation via SAS, cheeky cunts want me to blink first.

With TUI I got my credit email thru called them and had to wait for just over 2 hours.
Spoke nicely to the guy on the phone and 24 hours later full refund in my account.

Managed to get our honeymoon cancelled yesterday and we are getting back £1600 of the £3k we had paid. Pissed off about losing £1400 but there are more important things. Would rather cancel now and get £1600 back than end up not wanting to go in September and losing the lot.

Would have got the full lot back if Donald Trump wasn’t being Donald Trump back in March when he banned all visitors to the US apart from the UK. Then a few days after we had swapped to September he included the UK.
