Have you got any idea if the reports off him being asked to renegotiate and lower his demands by 30% after the caronavirus?

By Bayern or us?

Sounds like an easy one to write in the current climate.

Don't think Sane would be happy it Bayern are asking him to take a £70k a week pay cut, especially if it also applied to his £10m signing on fee.

Yep, you heard right, £10m for lowering his contract down to the extent he has.

Would turn most heads.

If Barca or Real Madrid came calling tomorrow, Bayern wouldn't see Sane but for the dust from his Merc.

However, City have certainly tried as best as they could so far.

Perhaps if we win at CAS next week we might yet see a Hail Mary from Txiki and the board.

Sadly, we would have to go higher than £240k a week Bayern have gone to, which is when the likes of Bernie and Laporte would be more than justified to have their own agents on the blower.

Not my money, if the shackles are finally off next week, I couldn't care less if we paid him £300k a week just to nail him down.

I think he is a fantastic player.

He was a fantastic player in flashes and the older he got I was hoping we were to see the best of him as he matured and become more consistent

Now after the injury, who knows.

I'm really of the mindset that I don't care what happens with Leroy.

He's a fantastic player, but there are still some glaring deficiencies to his game. He struggles to play inside, and is best when he has space to run into.

He hasn't progressed in the way Raheem has, and the fact that he couldn't get into the team during last year's run in said it all to me. During the Leicester game, Guardiola had to literally coach him positionally from the side lines.

I also think he'll struggle at Bayern. They're an excellent side but he struggled when playing with an attacking fullback. He doesn't know how to occupy space or leave space for his fullback to run into. Its evident when he plays with Mendy.

If we can replace him adequately, let him go.

Teams seem to be defending deeper against us, limiting the options to get behind them. I'm not sure this suits Leroy, he's the best in the business when there's a bit of room behind the defence, Arsenal away a few years ago a prime example.
On the other hand he has fantastic dribbling ability so could possibly overcome this.
I'm still bloody confused about him !

One thing you always have to consider - Will the signing we make to eventually replace him be as good? The answer is probably no, and he remains one of the most dangerous players in the world in his position.

Gonna be a sad sad day for me if/when we lose Leory, particularly to them lot. Will be the most gutted about a player leaving since SWP to chelsea

Perhaps City holding Sane to his final year while financially stupid, has a longer term pay off?

We have the likes of KDB and Sterling with three years left, Stones with less than two.

If the first two ever did decide they want out or not want to renew, they would always be mindful that Sane had his bluff called.
You're usually one of the more balanced posters on this forum, so this seems very out of character.

Why would you want players staying here because they felt like they had to because otherwise the club would fuck them over? Do you really think that's going to get the best out of those players? Not only that De Bruyne and Sterling are two of the leaders of this team and you want to undermine the trust, appreciation and respect the management team have taken years to build up, just to scare them.

Likewise with Bernardo and Laporte, why undermine the appreciation we show those guys to keep Sane, it doesn't make sense.

It's one player (Sane) who wants to leave, let it go, the club is bigger and better than one player. We're not desperate, we don't need to lower ourselves to Bayern's standards, we do things properly.

That doesn't make sense. If there's no space in behind or through the middle, you go around the sides, exactly what Sane does best. There's more than one way to skin a cat, the more options the better.

Liverpool use the fullbacks to provide the width, we haven't got the fullback to do that job (excluding maybe Cancelo and Angelino). Walker's crossing is atrocious, Mendy doesn't have the energy or stamina after his injuries and Zinchenko is not a fullback. Cancelo can't get Walker out of the team and Angelino isn't stable enough defensively to get in the team. Unless you replace 4/5 fullbacks, it's going to have to be the wingers providing the width.

The only two who can adequately replace him are Sancho and Ferran Torres.
Could someone tell me where all that Ferran Torres hype comes from? He‘s nowhere near Sané and he is not even the same type of player. More like a playmaker on the right wing.

Not when teams defend deep with 5 at the back, that restricts the area outside.

Liverpool tend to get crosses without going round the defence, watch how many times they whip crosses from the edge of the area, we tend to pull it back more
