I mentioned earlier in the week , shops should clear and put away all contents and they really need to prepare for the amount of dickheads looking to start trouble.

If the police and government stop the softly softly approach and disperse them by the only means they can then they will be cast as villains.

The ones that are there to riot want to riot and they don't want anyone to stop them, not one jot of thought for the sacrifices the rest of the country has made to keep the virus under check, this is going to turn public opinion against them.

But they are v outnumbered.

These so called protesters are only there to cause violence. Do they think the wider public will sympathise with them? How does attacking police help them or help the black community??

Its good of them to care about other lives and risk other people getting infected aswell.

I get that but we are in a middle of a pandemic and protesting over something that happen the other side of the world. usa having been doing this for decades

I don't think people are marching in this country and all over to change things in America. Things aren't perfect in the UK either, and they want that to be known. BAME men are disproportionately arrested and more likely to be given a prison sentence for the same crime.

For example, a black young male is 10x more likely to be arrested for robbery than a white person, but prosecution and conviction rates are relatively equal. 4x more likely to be arrested for a sexual crime, but actually less likely to be prosecuted or convicted.


The marches have transcended george floyd and black deaths by police into a more general police protest IMO.

It depends what statistics you focus on.

Black people are more likely to be arrested than white people but of those arrested, white people are more likely to be killed in custody.

Likewise, white people are more likely to be convicted for indictable offences (jury trials effectively) than any other race.

Of all races though, Asians face the longest average custodial sentences for most offences.

So you can paint a picture anyway you like and there are obviously issues and discrepancies between the outcomes of all races in the criminal justice system and always will be in any free society but the portrayal of the UK as a fundamentally racist society to the point where people are holding protests in the middle of a pandemic is a dangerous and arguably counterproductive move imo.

Outrage over a man and his family on a day out and we have these fucking idiots not only breaking social distancing but attacking the police and i will add, intentionally so.

They deserve all the stick coming their way im afraid and frankly, they are nothing to do with legitimate protest like BLM and everything to do with being utter cunts.

Of course i can't justify it ,it happens at every demonstration though ,it doesn't take away the point of the majority peaceful ones
