We are all concerned for you Karen and glad you pulled through but you have advocated on this thread for Month's how the Govt. etc has got it all wrong with sticking to the rules. You now commend thousands of people in our major Cities congregating to protest whilst in a major pandemic that is taking lives every day. You cannot have it both ways I'm afraid.

That’s not what I said nor implied but I do keep saying that Britain is the most multiculturally open and safe country in the world and no ethnicity is treated disproportionately badly compared to any other here.

Apart from black men being stopped and arrested in more frequency, all other statistics for the country show that white boys and men from deprived backgrounds have the worst of everything else in this country from education to school truancy to living with domestic violence to unemployment to living in poverty to living in the most deprived areas in the country to living in the worst housing in the country to drug dependency to homelessness to prison sentences...

I am correcting your medical view on timings that is wrong,should I have said the person I can't name lifted the lockdown for bank holiday,the mention of his name should not unleash the attack dogs,it is a matter of fact that he lifted the lockdown ,the fact is any deaths next week as was posted will not have been because of today,it will have been from that weekend

I know it’s terrible what happened but it was in the USA, not the U.K. I’m not naive enough to think racism doesn’t exist over here either. We’ve just had a referendum which was fought with some appallingly racist undertones, sometimes even overtly.

In the nicest possible way, I give as much of a shit about what happens in America as I do Iceland or Fiji. Nobody likes to see innocent people get hurt or people in power abuse their position but these scenes (in the U.K.) are ridiculous considering the lockdown.

Just because it’s America people have decided to continue the movement, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic and because of these protests there’s a very real chance more people will die. Now we’ve got dick heads causing trouble for the sake of it.

I made a flippant remark above so if anybody has taken offence then I apologise but I hold all members of society to the same standards, uniform or not.

Just because there are incidences of racist behaviour does not mean racism is alive and well in this country.

There is not a systemic negative attitude or action towards any group of people here.

In my lifetime the only thing I can see as being an alive and well negative drive towards a group of people was towards white working class people under the Thatcher govt when industries were closed down to run down certain towns in the North of England and Wales, causing purposeful deprivation for these people and places.

No ethnic community really suffers anymore than the white people within that very same community in this country. Anyone treated like dirt here comes from a multicultural area where all the people in that same area are treated the same.

Yes, there are racists, yes there are certain police stats that show in some ways there are slight causes for concern, but no ethnicity is treated like dirt.

People really really need to stop thinking it’s the same here, or even similar in any slight way, to what it is in the USA. It hasn’t been, it isn’t and it won’t be.

Just my 2 cents, but I really don't believe these mass gatherings should be allowed during the current pandemic. The people attending are a danger not only to themselves, but those they will come into contact with in the near future. Unfortunately Black people are dying at a disproportionate rate, it doesn't take Einstein to work out that todays protest may well add to those numbers.
