Here's the President of the United States of America, doing exactly what I warned about yesterday.

Because Antifa isn't a group -- it's a trope, or a label -- Trump can apply it freely to demonize a 75 year-old man shoved to the ground by police.

Of course, there is an ACTUAL organization the poor man belongs to that belies his real focus.

Trump is such a ****,a set up so he can crack his head open on the pavement risking death

The one thing Raz said I really didn’t like was “racism is the only disease”.

Is there context to that?

If not I better phone my mate and tell him to stop mourning his grandad who died from Covid-19.

He seem to mean that comment meaning that was the only disease for the black community in the context of the racist stuff ,my point remains to chippy that there is plenty of racism in the country if he opens his eyes,he can't have missed raz was the victim of a racist attack outside of the stadium,he talks with great clarity on the subject of racism, who are we to say he is wrong

Not sure that was the full interview,it was a quick google

Twitter quotes from the interview

Raheem Sterling on speaking out against injustice: "I don't think about my job: I think about what's right... There's only so much people can take. Especially black people. People are tired and people are ready for change." [via
@BBCSport
]

Raheem Sterling on injustice: "Just like the pandemic, we want to find a solution to stop it. This is what these protesters are doing. They are trying to find a solution and a way to stop the injustice they are seeing and they are fighting for their cause..."

"As long as they are doing it peacefully and safely and not hurting anybody and not breaking into any stores, they continue to protest in this peaceful way."

"I keep saying this. I see a lot of people on social [media], supporting the cause. But this is something that needs more than just talking. We need to actually implement change and highlight the places that do need changes..."

"But this is something that I myself will continue to do, and spark these debates and get people in my industry looking at themselves and thinking what they can do to give people an equal chance in this country..."

"Hopefully other industries can do that, and everyday society and the system as well." [via

I'm not sure if he is serious.....

Had to laugh at this :)

He did actually really say that racism is the ONLY disease we are fighting, on that count he doesn't have a point, I can say he's wrong on that count and be confident that I am right. It wasn't a slip of the tongue he even said that what he is about to say may sound silly.

It didn't sound silly at all, it sounded pretty stupid, uncaring and showed no insight into the suffering this virus causes.

In my opinion in no way was he saying what you have said,he is in the community hardest hit by covid, centuries old racism that affects their every day life I can see why they have taken this moment to try and change things, most wore masks so they were aware

Even if that is the context, there is a bit of irresponsibility there, it’s negatively effecting BAME people (and bald so that’s me!) more for some reason.

The greatest risk to everyone now is this virus.

I agree there’s a lot of racism still out there, obviously I don’t receive it so I probably don’t see it properly, I do factor that into my view on this but I still don’t know what system change they want, when they refer to that.

I’m not being an arse, I just haven’t read or heard a specific policy or law they want to change?

Obviously the Windrush scandal is something I totally agree was a disgrace and shouldn’t have happened, but that’s been stopped thankfully.

What else is there institutionally?

He said it I watched him say it, it's on the BBCi player, he even said before he said it that this might sound silly. There is a video of him saying it you can't say that I am making this up.

You said this,i disagree

It didn't sound silly at all, it sounded pretty stupid, uncaring and showed no insight into the suffering this virus causes

Look they have every right to use this moment to try and force change, these moments dont happen every day,the greatest change comes from moments like this, momentum is everything

As i have said before as a white person i cant tell them they are wrong

They know that their community is by far the hardest hit by covid so what does that tell you about their strength of feeling to take action on this now

Shit timing with covid ,no doubt about that

I don't agree with BLM spreading the virus possibly putting the rest of this island at risk, supporting the people in the USA because of this horrible murder but he was bang out of order for saying what he said, you seriously can't defend that. I quite like Sterling my posts on him reflect that but waht he said was warped.

More BAME people die percentage wise from Covid, the solution?

Go on a march.

EDIT: I quite like you as a poster but you're being a bit of a fan/girl/boy on this issue.

A virus isn't necessarily a disease?

After all, antibiotics don't work with COVID, so it's not officially a disease.

So, Raz is quite right.
