Fraught with difficulty this statue business:

but from Jade Goody Wiki....

Among Goody's remarks were, "I've seen how she goes in and out of people's arseholes" and Shetty "makes [her] skin crawl".[34][35] She also called Shetty "Shilpa Fuckawalla" and "Shilpa Poppadom". Other, unbroadcast incidents of racism were later alleged,[36] including a late-night limerick game between O'Meara, Lloyd, Goody and Tweed in which the word "Paki" was implied but not said.[37] Goody allegedly wondered aloud if Lloyd used "the P-word", and referred to Shetty as "Shilpa Pashwa whoever you fucking are".[36]

The incident triggered an international outcry, receiving extensive coverage in the Indian media (where Gordon Brown, then British Chancellor of the Exchequer, was visiting at the time). Brown condemned the programme for damaging the impression of Britain as a country of tolerance.[38] In a 17 January statement, Channel 4 defended the programme against charges "of overt racism or racial abuse".[39]

Goody was evicted from the Big Brother house on 19 January 2007, receiving 82 per cent of the vote when she was up against Shetty.[40] Channel 4 prevented crowds from gathering outside the house, and cancelled her scheduled press conference.[41] In an interview with Davina McCall shortly afterwards, Goody said she was "disgusted with [her]self" after seeing a video of the alleged bullying.[42] Her much-publicised return to the Big Brother house was called "a terrible decision" by publicist Max Clifford: "It looks like she has ruined a very lucrative career".[43] At this time Goody was a supporter of the anti-bullying charity Act Against Bullying, which dropped her.[44] In an interview with the Daily Star, Goody said that her abuse of Shetty ruined her girl-next-door image.

Although Shetty did not lodge an official complaint about racist behaviour with Big Brother, her allegations compelled police to investigate the possible classification of her treatment as "racial hatred" under Part III of the Public Order Act 1986. In a statement, the Hertfordshire police said that it was

... investigating allegations of racist behaviour in the Big Brother house and will be conducting enquiries, including a review of the tapes. We will continue to liaise with Ofcom and with Endemol, whom we have strongly encouraged to ensure that any form of behaviour that could raise similar concerns, does not occur. We will continue to closely monitor the situation over the next few days. Hertfordshire Constabulary will not tolerate racism in any form and is taking these allegations seriously. The constabulary has experience of investigating and resolving incidents in the Big Brother house in past seasons.[45]
March 2009 for your link. Is the statue up?

I will admit with some trivial things like tv shows and the like being mentioned I am not that bothered

But anyone trying to remove carry on up the kyber from the shelves is getting it.

Conveniently overlooked due to her reality status. Half these protesters probably followed her on Facebook and twitter

Cheers. The 'agents' i refer to were the people with connections to the UK that did the deals.
I think the black people sold each other is a bit of a deflection/distraction tbh. Farmers in Afghanistan produce heroin, but that doesn't excuse or abslove the millionaire dealers in the West

My guess would be that the majority of people who fixate over his past would also say it was justified if he had just been caught committing a heanus crime (people who for certain cases like street justice rather than courts)

He could have had the worst past in history and he still wouldn't have deserved to be executed on the street in the situation he was in.
Four police officers turn up for a potential $20 crime. You can not get one to turn up in our country how ever hard you try.

I witnessed two Eastern Europeans shoplifting in my local Iceland last year and informed a manager who was also eyeing them up from near the entrance. I offered to help him tackle them but he said the company policy was non-intervention and just to inform the police. They filled their rucksack and just walked out of the store past me and the manager. A lady arrived who it transpired was a manager at the Co-Op some 200 yards away she had already informed the police as they had taken things from her store. I hung around for ten minutes or so as I had clocked which direction they had walked of in, not one policeman turned up in all that time.

Her life was made hell she went to India to educate herself on the subject which is a hell of alot more than other people do.

Jade Goody was an uneducated woman who was exploited for money really where everyone laughed at her expense. Her mother was a ****.

Switch off the computer, close the door, switch off the lights and climb back under that duvet.

It's reet shit out there, pal...

I kind of have had to do that in a way, in a virtual sense. I love that these issues are getting global coverage, but it can get discouraging when you take a step and think, why do we have to debate and argue long into the night for days and weeks on end to try and convince people that ending racial inequality is not an unreasonable request? Why is opposing racism such a controversial and contentious issue?

See this every week at the Boots next to my work. Every now and again another customer will collar them as the staff are told (rightly) not to detain them.
They installed high tech video and audio that now spots the thief and the tannoy tells them they're being recorded.

Ignorance is no excuse. She wasn't complaining about raking in the money. People like her crave fame and then complain when they have to deal with the trappings that come with it
Reality Tv is the downfall of society

Sort of renders your original post pointless then?
Only trying to find a more contemporary example of how questionable monuments can come about and a person can have a retrospective halo applied after they have died - the Mirror being one of the papers that almost pushed her to suicide. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that....
