I'm not so sure that City wouldn't want to get rid of FFP in its current form. I agree that City haven't wanted to pick a fight with UEFA over it probably because they didn't want to fall out with UEFA as a regulatory football authority and because the club felt it could operate within the constraints of FFP. My view is that FFP is in restraint of trade and should be done away with so far as it limits the ability of an owner to invest in his own business. FFP palpably does not work in subduing certain clubs (not City) from paying astronomical transfer fees, or saddling clubs with potentially crippling debt, or going bust. FFP is not fit for purpose and I suspect City will attack it as a concept if they need to as part of this dispute and if City judge it is in the best commercial interests of the club.

Lots of web addresses are abbreviated, I doubt they refer to the club as Man City on official stationery or ffp lie detector tests.
You’re being silly now. It’s not an issue is it really? Just look at the club store... you’d be surprised how much of the merchandise is just ‘Man City’... For me it’s always ‘City’.

Going back to the early 1960`s I`ve always used the words Man City to describe who I support. Its neither correct nor incorrect. If you start a footballing conversation with people you don`t know, you can guarantee they always use the word "City" and make no reference to Manchester either.
Thats not to say they don`t use those words "cheating oil bastards" and similar, but I always grin and say "I know shocking ain`t it".
Thats when they don`t know what to say.

No, they refer to themselves as Manchester City Football Club Ltd.

I don't use that one either.

Someone's relationship with City is very personal - I'd perhaps argue it could also depends on your own social class and geographical location?

I am litter of the runt, central Manchester M14 ilk, and it has always been Man City for me and those who grew up around me.

And it's also a barm ;)
