Why in ten years? Have there not been anyone playing for the last ten? Genuinely can't see your point except on yorke obviously

As the pool of BAME players has grew bigger over the last 10 years.

I believe that the % of BAME professional footballers in the top four divisions this season is around 30% and looking at the demographics of clubs youth teams that number will only rise in the next 10 years which means the pool will get bigger to choose from. If then we still have 1/92 BAME managers in 2030 then I believe it is a valid point to make and questions should be asked.

At this moment in time though, the average age of a manager must be in the 50’s, that is 20 years since they last played when the % of BAME players was much lower hence the current lack of managers.

I truely don’t believe it is a racism problem, it’s a numbers problem.

There is clearly something amiss though when you compare the percentage of black players to the percentage of black managers. For whatever reason, they don’t seem to be afforded the same opportunities.
Using the percentage of players is a bad premise. Past players with a UEFA license might be a better measure. From there, given the lopsided numbers of applicants and experience, I’m not sure I can see the issue.

That said, I’m open to being educated, but it is going to require some decent data.

Do you have a link to those figures please?

Like I said...!

I expressed my opinion. If you wish to discount it, then provide some decent data. I’m not the one casting the aspersions that British football is racist because there are so few BAME managers. I don’t think it’s racism, I think it is math, but I’m willing to learn if someone has math that disputes my opinion.

Your logic is lacking. Equating player to manager is a false premise. To suggest one leads to the other is false. To extrapolate the numbers is false.

Hence the request for DECENT DATA.

So because she is a black woman she doesn’t want to publicly get involved?
She is the local member of parliament for the Area
whilst the situation is so heated i don't think it would be helpful, look she get brought up in every thread because people hate her/labour which is up to you but don't keep asking me about her, drop her a message

They say they glanced at the police once I think, facts are more black people get pulled over by police and has been the case for years, especially if they have a nice car,it is profiling

Sorry, nothing about that article suggests it was profiling. Feel sorry for the cops involved if anything, literally can't do their job without being labelled racists.

Sorry, I thought when you referenced past players with a UEFA licence and said “from there, given the lopsided numbers of applicants and experience, I’m not sure I can see the issue” that you had some evidence to back it up?!

Do you think black people are pulled over/stopped in the streets disproportionately though?

My point is that you can’t turn the other cheek when it suits.
You either stand for what is right or you don’t.
The whole point of the protests is about everyone being equal and that cuts both wAys

I have no idea. Sections of the black community seem to think they are, which is fair enough, but I don't know the statistics to reflect that, and I don't know how they compare to having committed actual criminality per % of the community.

All I'm saying is that article, which in Karen's own words has 'pissed her off' is something about nothing. Absolutely nothing in it to suggest racial profiling but the public have already made their minds up. Its not ok to be racist (we all agree on that) but it's fine to suggest people are racist without any evidence seems to be the take away from that.

What is the percentage of BAME managers across the top 5 leagues in Europe?

I had a friend who lived in Collyhurst and not matter what car he drove he was pulled up on Rochdale road for any random reason numerous times when I was in the car with him. Whilst working in Heywood distribution park it was the same story coming home from work at 6 in the morning with a lad that gave me a lift.

I got pulled walking my Dog by a copper asking where I was going, I replied courteously but he was most definitely being an end of shift arse. That being said the figures look damning because % wise black people do get stopped more often than any other demographic.

This data shows that:

  • there were 375,588 stop and searches in England and Wales between April 2018 and March 2019, at a rate of 7 per 1,000 people
  • there were 4 stop and searches for every 1,000 White people, compared with 38 for every 1,000 Black people
  • there were 11 stop and searches per 1,000 Asian people, and also 11 per 1,000 people with Mixed ethnicity
  • the 3 Black ethnic groups had the highest rates of stop and search out of all 16 individual ethnic groups

Yeah, black people are over nine times more likely to be stopped and searched than white people according to that data. No wonder they feel a bit persecuted.
