The prioritisation of possession from the back that Pep effectively introduced into English football has made most games as dull as watching paint dry. Most try to do it now, even shite like Everton. If you are not good at it or don’t understand how to use it as a weapon, then the game is just relentless safe, unimaginative passing, seemingly for the sake of it. A much smaller percentage of games are actually entertaining these days. Well that’s how it feels to me at least.
