Donald Trump

How did he get there?

You mean apart from the proven widespread voter suppression, gerrymandering, election fraud and collaboration with foreign powers?

We know how he got here, 40 years of republicans stacking the deck so that money decides elections, not voters, Fox News pumping out propaganda to take advantage of uneducated voters who don't realise the reason they're poor and uneducated is because the Republican party keeps them that way.

Christ, the way you talk you'd think Trump won the election with a landslide.

He lost the popular vote by a landslide and that's despite committing dozens of crimes along the way.
Yup, not to mention the number one reason he got elected. Racists being annoyed at having a black man rule over them for 8 years. Fuck all to do with policies, neolibs or any other such bollocks, just the inevitable knuckle dragging pushback when progress happens. To declare the problem was that they weren't progressive enough is beyond stupid.

Whilst I get this, this man's presidency wasn't created in a vacuum. It's been years of working class and BAME being lied to and being told 'incremental changes' is the thing. This gen is done waiting, looking at the gen before suffering. People sought hope, were promised it and have been let down.

What #45 is doing is what it is now, but the Dem party wash their hands off it and claim no blame. That's bullshit.

They created the monster they refuse to claim. They gave away control with poor policies and the monster rages, creating wanton havoc.

I don't understand why people don't see this.
So far off the mark.

Despite being blighted by Senate Republicans in his second term Obama still managed to create the bedrock of a solid economic platform to build on. It it hadn't been for this then this Trump term would have been 10x the sh*t show it is now.

That said, the reforms that Obama could have brought in were blocked on 'principle by McConnel in the Senate. What should have been a productive second term essentially boiled down to GOP cock-waving at every opportunity.

So explain why a Democratic isn't president right now? And don't give me your voting system bollocks as that's only a partial answer.
Gerrymandering, GOP Super PAC's, and the Electoral College would all be legitimate reasons under normal circumstances.

For 2016 you can add dirty tricks and outside intervention to that list.

You could put some blame on Hilary and the Dem's for their complacency, but it the grand scheme of things it didn't make an awful lot of difference.

Always the second term, eh?

And did the Dem party come into existence in 2008? There are multiple policies and actions that created the pathway for this presidency otherwise the Dems would still be in charge, wouldn't they?

Oh wait, gerrymandering...

LOL!!

I didn't see your additional post, but knew what it would involve!

Dems had their own super PAC system in 2016 and this super delegate nonsense as well as dirty tricks of their own when Sanders ran in 2016 AND 2020!

It's all wrong until the Dems say it's right.

Classic Democrat's eh?

Attempting to do the best by the electorate; serving everyone instead of the GOP just looking out for themselves or their mates.

Well, that's a joke!!

How many people went to jail over the Wall St crash?? How many companies were bailed out whilst the working class lost their homes?

Don't do revisionist bullshit.

The problem with your theory is that it boils down to who was the best at being the worst, and that doesn't serve the electorate well at all.

Early in President Trump’s term, McSweeney’s editors began to catalog the head-spinning number of misdeeds coming from his administration. We called this list a collection of Trump’s cruelties, collusions, and crimes, and it felt urgent then to track them, to ensure these horrors — happening almost daily — would not be forgotten. This election year, amid a harrowing global health, civil rights, humanitarian, and economic crisis, we know it’s never been more critical to note these horrors, to remember them, and to do all in our power to reverse them. This list will be updated between now and the November 2020 Presidential election.

Here's the first 759 of them:

And whilst I get that, it's absolute nonsense to solely blame #45 and the GOP for the current conditions when the Dems servitude to big business first before its citizens has brought the us here.

When #45 offered a lie to change the system, he won the vote of the electoral college. Sanders policies offered a similar pathway for jobs, healthcare and wages as a Progressive, but the Dems rejected this in 2016.

Protests were always coming to the fore, whether it happened this year or later.

Yeah but did you see the bit where both Republicans and Democrats obstructed his testimony by tapping their pens on their microphones so no one could hear him?

Oh wait, no, only Republicans tried to obstruct like that.

This will not look good when all of Barr's dealings come out.
