Add to that list tax evasion (Hoeness), watch smuggling (Rumennigge), links to terrorists (Liverpool sponsors Standard Chartered - Iran and Western Union - Hezbollah), offsetting £50 million against FFP losses for stadium development costs for a non-existent stadium (Liverpool again), getting state aid (Madrid & Barca), match fixing (Juventus). The list goes on.

He'll still have contacts inside the club though not at a senior level. It's possible one of them spotted Khaldoon skipping down the corridor singing "we'll buy your clubs and burn them down" and passed on the info.

Lots of people have low and middle level contacts but if we know the decision yet it will have been kept at the very highest level or this would be leaking all over the place, which it clearly hasn’t. IC has taken an educated guess, a punt

I agree with Ahsan here, Ian's lack of follow up is completely crap. Seems like he took a punt and is hoping on Monday it comes out right. It's a classic gamble. On Monday no one will rememeber if we end up banned and that'll be the dominating theme and dealing with the fall out of that rather than calling out Ian.

The whole "not confirmed yet" part of his tweet is also BS. It's basically a get out of jail card within his own gambling tweet.

I'll wait for more concrete news/sources or the actual announcement in like 48 hours.

People will remember. He will lose all credibility with City fans.

There will be a handful of people who know. Senior board members, the owner and Pep. Ian Cheeseman will not have been told anything by any of these.

I'm not sure why it can't be made public though.

Both organisations clearly know the outcome of the CAS appeal already
If anyone believes that City and Uefa will only find out just before the judgement is made public they are very naive .

Specially if it’s half 9 Monday hardly time to prepare statements and responses to the verdict.

Unlikely. I don't know whether it's a s semi-official communique, or old fashioned journalism, either way it's worth giving quite a lot of weight too. Of all the journalists on the City scene, Cheesy is the most reliable and the last thing he'd do is wind City fans up.

In general people should quit trying to smoke Cheesy out. A City journalist is entitled to post his opinion. Take it or leave it.

I think it will have been a miscalculation if he thinks nobody will remember. He has a lot of good will amongst City fans. If he’s taken a punt and got it wrong he’s going to lose that pretty sharpish. It’ll go from good will to people being very pissed off indeed with him for toying with emotions at an incredibly important time.

I don’t know whether the club knows already but I’d have thought there is no chance they find out at the same time as the public. They will surely be told tomorrow at the latest if the don’t know already?
