I think it will have been a miscalculation if he thinks nobody will remember. He has a lot of good will amongst City fans. If he’s taken a punt and got it wrong he’s going to lose that pretty sharpish. It’ll go from good will to people being very pissed off indeed with him for toying with emotions at an incredibly important time.

Thing is,it won't change his credibility if we do get the decision won, because I don't for one minute think he will brag about it,like Marvin has just said,he won't be trying to wind City fans up

I agree with Ahsan here, Ian's lack of follow up is completely crap. Seems like he took a punt and is hoping on Monday it comes out right. It's a classic gamble. On Monday no one will rememeber if we end up banned and that'll be the dominating theme and dealing with the fall out of that rather than calling out Ian.

The whole "not confirmed yet" part of his tweet is also BS. It's basically a get out of jail card within his own gambling tweet.

I'll wait for more concrete news/sources or the actual announcement in like 48 hours.
You're relatively new to this forum - trust me, plenty on here will remember if that happens.

People will remember. He will lose all credibility with City fans.

There will be a handful of people who know. Senior board members, the owner and Pep. Ian Cheeseman will not have been told anything by any of these.

I'm not sure why it can't be made public though.
Yes I agree, I have always thought him to be honest and reliable - that opinion will certainly change if he has gone off half-cock without any genuine information about the outcome of the appeal.

His followers for his youtube videos will plummet if he has got this horribly wrong!

Where was that reported mate, that he had been given a warning?

I'm kind of reading between the lines here but he tweeted something and I read on here he was told to reel it in by his bosses. I read it on here a few weeks back. Since then his tweets have been more professional and corporate based, though still a little snidey. Well, the ones I see quoted on here as I'm one of the ones he's blocked though I've been nothing but perfectly polite!

Lots of people have low and middle level contacts but if we know the decision yet it will have been kept at the very highest level or this would be leaking all over the place, which it clearly hasn’t. IC has taken an educated guess, a punt
To state completely exonerated isn't making an educated guess, something like City have been cleared is an educated guess, to go out that far on a limb he shortly has been tipped something.

Unlikely. I don't know whether it's a s semi-official communique, or old fashioned journalism, either way it's worth giving quite a lot of weight too. Of all the journalists on the City scene, Cheesy is the most reliable and the last thing he'd do is wind City fans up.

It is odd, was almost like some kind of an unofficial statement, especially as there has been no follow up and no answering any questions. He just put the statement out there and let it hang. In my experience people who are seeking attention normally follow up, but he has been silent. It’s all very quiet.

I know this much. Had UEFA won there is no way the papers wouldn't have been running with it this weekend as the leaks from the usual suspects would not have been unable to contain themselves.

UEFA asking for the decision to be moved from the day of their draw so as not to take attention away from it was the big tell.
