CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

It was for limited cooperation with the initial investigation, no inference of guilt and don’t let any dippers or rags tell you otherwise.

Sets a precident though – any other club that doesn't co-operate should be automatically fined €10mil then surely

Ok, so great result but I suspect ike many others I have an issue with the fine. Reading the CAS info, and we will get more shortly, it is because we failed to cooperate with them, which sounds like CAS refused our argument over concerns of a UEFA leak / mole.

I suspect that at some point in the UEFA investigation we saw where it was heading and shut up shop, and CAS haveto show that non-cooperation is not an option, but that's still a big fee to pay for not providing something which isn't actually specificed yet - unrealistic to have asked us to provdie another company's accounts, so must be to do with us just not talking to Laterme and his team once we saw the process with not fair. If so that's a heavy fine even if it is a third of the original and a big part of me says why should we pay a fine to fund a flawed and biased process?

Still, the bigger picture - UEFA acted without reason or evidence to ban us. That's the bigger win. Maybe we claw back more than €10m in our own actions in the fall out of this all.
We’ve been fined for being arsey with UEFA, not CAS.

I’ll take that any day of the week.

Pep to sign an extension now pls City :-)

Take it take it take it!

The funniest thing is CAS mention the lack of evidence for some claims yet UEFA officials even discussed punishments in public before handing out the verdict.

Massive victory for us and it really damages the credibility of UEFA's system.

As for the fine well best 10 mill we've spent.

There will be an awful lot of biased horrible incompetent reporters and clubs gutted by this. This has been a trying few months for City, akin to being bullied, but its a lovely moment. I have nothing but contempt for the people who didnt understand the redicolous allegations and reported or commented inaccurately in trying to abuse my club. Plus, the 8 **** clubs who put the knife in when they thought we were down are beyond contempt. I will never forget.

Absolutely buzzing, just trying to absorb what it means in the short term for us.

Feel good factor to the end of the season? CHECK

Freedom to attract the best options in the transfer market this summer? CHECK

Disappearance of any fears our best players would want to leave? CHECK

Piss boiling at our major rivals for the foreseeable? CHECK

Media stunned into silence or change of strategy towards us? MMMNN BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT.

What a fucking relief to have this millstone removed from our necks.

We haven’t been exonerated, as such.

Reading it, it seems like UEFA couldn’t prove we were guilty to a good enough extent so the ban has been overturned but it hasn’t been proven that we did nothing wrong.

This is great for the club being able to play in the CL next season and ongoing, but hasn’t done anything for our reputation like being absolved of guilt/proven innocence would have done.

We have been exonerated of everything except failing to co-operate with UEFA's flawed investigation.
