CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

know that we have had time to have a dance and waving hands and voiced our joys what will be next by uefa ???

we all know the harder factor is now going to be on the playing field and the officials and VAR eyes all over us in the madrid game, i have this feeling we will get done over big time and the match officials will be told to give us nothing and the VAR team will be working over time to spot the littlest things that they can use to stop city

the battle was won at CAS but the war is not over ?? you think the elite will just let this happen ? uefa will be under so much pressure by them that thye can only stop us on the field of play now
Book it, 90 second VAR reviews on any of our goals.

Probably already posted but

Sports journalism is a mess.

So many narratives being invented out of thin air, we all have access to the same information at the moment, and that’s the CAS press release - nothing more. Full report in a couple of days yet people are making up there own interpretations to suit their agenda

Oh well, loving the tears

Surely it's by definition not a credible regulator if the investigation it was running was dismissed as being without merit by the first independent body to review the details, and the stated lack of cooperation was driven by the same regulator's complete inability to stop the supposedly confidential details of the investigation being constantly leaked to the media (also acknowledged by CAS). What's the supposed argument for cooperating with such a shambolic, compromised investigation?

City cooperated with the first credible investigation it encountered. The sad reality for UEFA is that credibility wasn't encountered until the investigation left their oversight and went to an independent and internationally respected arbitrator.

Way back when all this started following those leaked emails and UEFA’s investigation I remember the abuse I (and many other fans) got for simply reserving judgement until a proper, transparent legal process with triangulation of material reached its conclusion. Time after time we were told by rival fans or certain media figures to ‘accept the verdict’ and we were ridiculed for asking for a transparent legal process to reach its conclusion. Because of this today feels so satisfying. Apologies from those who abused us (as a group and as individuals) would be appropriate but we know we won’t get that. Instead those who told us to ‘accept the verdict’ will mostly be publishing their own negative slant and looking for excuses or they’ll be banging on about the €10m fine as if that’s significant when it only actually means we chose not to comply with the demands of a process we didn’t agree with.

I’ve seen some academics and others focusing on sports law say they are surprised by the verdict but - and this is important - those of us who’d taken the time and trouble to talk with leading officials and had listened to what City was actually saying knew that once a proper, transparent legal process was followed City would be fine. Those leaked emails were out of context and edited - UEFA fell for it because it seems they wanted it all to be true.

This is a great day for City but, in truth, it’s a day of celebration that should never have existed. UEFA should’ve worked with City to understand their position, instead Europe’s governing body failed to independently review the facts.

UEFA are simply no longer fit for purpose, be it because they are complicit in protecting the cartel (and we all know who they are), or just generally incompetent in the management of their own business and rules (which are likely to have been created to protect the cartel).
Time for a new euro league perhaps.

Looking forward to drive time on talk shite

You just know the first words that will come out of dunda brain Gough’s mouth will be

“If tha nae guilty then why they bin fined ten
Million quid !?!!”

Just imagine if we kick on, win a cup treble, and sign a couple of top players for next year. Kev has said he is here till 23 (at least) and it wouldn't surprise me if Pep signs an extension as well.

Anyone referring to us as cheats, no matter if it’s head of associations ie Spain, media hacks or twitter posts should now be subject to City's lawyers and sued.

would love the club to issue a strongly worded statement about the first time we got fined and state the facts of UEFA moving the goalposts, tapping up by German rags, Spanish association guy, and state facts ie tax evasion in Spain, dippers hacking and everything else

Finally caught up!! Well done Khaldoon, Ferran, all of the executives. The legal team and those posters on here who clarified the situation and the club’s position. Celebrate Blues!! C’mon City xx
