CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

You're wrong, but it's really not that big of a deal. I always felt that if we were cleared, there'd be a groundswell of people on here backing their mates up and going "see, he was right, we knew all along". We didn't, Pep didn't, Soriano didn't, Khaldoon didn't. What they did know is that their lawyers felt they'd done more than enough to win it.

Actually, you’re wrong but you’re right that it’s not that big of a deal. City clearly knew the result on Friday.

Lads, who got the last touch for the goal?

It's a fucking goal.

It's not down to UEFA, both parties would have to agree to keep the detailed CAS verdict confidential and CAS have already announced that it will be published later this week.
Thanks, for some reason I assumed the next week report was interim and we must wait a couple of months for the full one.

Why do you think 7 year old revelations about Liverpool illegally hacking a fellow Premier League clubs' scouting system magically popped up last year?

No one thinks it's a little bit convenient that the Premier League ruled on something being too old to action, just a few months before they'd be forced to make a decision on whether to go after us for things in 2014?

The Premier League isn't going to do shit.

that’s a good point ref the hacking, much more serious and the dippers admitted it, we could even go to court on the basis that although we agreed an out of court settlement with the slimey twa ts, new evidence has emerged etc just like the UEFA blurb.

Let them make hay whilst they can, as soon as the full disclosure comes out, I expect the “time bar was the only reason you got off” excuse to be completely shot down.
And the fine will be explained as well,
they could very well be left with not a single shred of hope.

We just gotta wait.

Capitalism is about competition. Overprice your product people go elsewhere, underpay your staff ditto. To be more accurate this was Adam Smith's world.
Capitalists however naturally dislike competition as it's a dog eat dog world.

The obvious solution is to form cartels and control the institutions designed to regulate your activities.

The term socialism for the rich came into being after the crash of 2008 and the subsequent bank bailouts funded by the tax payer.

As we all know UEFA is an institution that protects the elite clubs from unwanted competition.

I'm delighted we beat them as they are corrupt but would like to see some sort of strategy in place not to help the Madrids and Uniteds of this world but to help the Brighton's and Norwich's. While it's great watching us play football from the gods, the routine hammerings of the minnows whether in England, Spain or Germany is not great for the long term future of the game.

btw I DO hope we continue to boo the anthem of the G14. Those fuckers dont know it we're booing them, juve, lfc, utd, bayern, rm. We will boo you then we will fucking beat you on the pitch

I’m finding it quite amusing and predictably hypocritical that rival fans and journalists are choosing to ignore the totally clear and unambiguous headline of the judgment like it doesn’t mean anything, and are instead applying their own interpretation of the small print to say that we did it and got off with it on a technicality, whereas without a detailed explanation, those words can be interpreted in any number of ways.

It’s not like it’s a newspaper headline that can often bear little relationship to the article. It’s a legal document where every word is chosen carefully and approved by senior legal experts. If the headline of the judgment says we didn’t do it, we didn’t fucking do it. Why is it so hard for them to understand?
They do understand but they are too bitter and salty to admit it. I for one love the fact that they are all suggesting we ‘got off’. I even heard one say that everything we win now has an asterisk against it . Anyway what matters isn’t the uneducated scousers bleating on about the unfairness of it all, it is the fact that we WILL be in the champs league next season, we WILL be challenging for the prem title next season and we almost certainly will dive into the transfer market and buy some world class talent to compliment what we have already got which scares the life out of every other team. Another 30 year wait for a Scouse title perhaps!

I don't need to, I've no interest in watching it.
Not even to see the lovely Alison Rudd and her tousled blonde locks?

I don't have Sky but sometimes watched Sunday Supplement if it was covered by a day pass from Now when City were playing. It enabled me to put faces to clowns mentioned on here and to see how accurate Blue Mooners were in describing Custis as a scruffy fat slug.
Its also good to know your enemy so you know what twats they really are.

They choose not to

There were no PL FFP rules before 2015 anyway.

The big thing that media hung their hopes on re PL sanctions was that we would have been 'exposed' for submitting false accounts.

So despite FFP in PL not existing that far back, and the margin being vastly different to pass, probably meaning that even had we failed at CAS we could still technically pass in the PL, if the verdict included any hint of book fiddling, we'd get done for That in the PL, not whether we did or didn't pass FFP as such.

With CAS accepting our books as valid, i really don't see how the PL can possibly pursue anything further. It would be silly.

Glad it wasn't that 1 year fudge some expected as well.

I went off Stefan saying on Friday that they 100% knew by now. You are right ultimately it doesn’t matter but it’s an interesting question for Stefan on your next podcast if only because Pep’s embargoed press conference looked like he might not know and I wonder how good an actor he is...”I’ve just got a good feeling” hmmm.....

While we are behind closed doors what's the chances of recorded booing being played.

I thought this comment under a Youtube video featuring Miguel Delaney was very well put:

"It was a witch hunt by UEFA backed by the established big boys of Europe who don't want any new clubs rocking their boat. Real Madrid have been state sponsored and had massive financial favours from the Spanish government for decades. Look how the money is distributed in Spain too, the big two have their own TV deals making much more money than their competitors. How are these things financial fair play? PSG seem to be allowed to spend whatever they want despite making a fraction of what City make from playing in France. In the last 8 seasons 5 different English clubs have won the Premier league, only City have managed to win 2 in a row. What have we had in other leagues? Juventus 8 out of 8 titles, Bayern 8 out of 8 titles, Celtic 8 out of 8 titles, PSG 7 out of 8 titles. Where is the financial fair play in these uncompetitive leagues? Why don't UEFA prioritise making those leagues fairer, rather than having a pop at City for daring to break up the European status quo."
