CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

G Nev out here talking absolute sense, fair play to the twat:

'I said a few months ago, FFP would have prevented Jack Walker doing what he did 30 years ago at Blackburn,' he added.

'It's fundamentally wrong that there are restrictions placed on owners to put money into football clubs. Whether it's Chelsea, Man City or Blackburn, all those stories we've had in the Premier League over the last 20 years or so, the addition to challenging Manchester United, Arsenal and other clubs wouldn't have happened if FFP had been implemented in its truest form"

'I don't believe it's right. There has always been rich owners investing into football clubs and that won't change today. FFP needs changing to a different model.'

The flaw in his argument is that under how he’d like FFP to work Glaziers would need to cover United’s debts at the end of each season - That’s never happening.

I agree with everything you have said except the bit about it not being enough to be “above reproach”...

Because it means the same thing you are arguing, which is why I used it, and why we are saying the same thing. ;-)

above (or beyond) reproach:
such that no criticism can be made; perfect.
I didn't think I was disagreeing, just building on your excellent post ;-)

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is now speaking to the media and has also been asked about Manchester City's European ban being overturned.

"It's a disgraceful decision because if City are not guilty of it then you are not punished with 10 million (euros)," he said.

"If you're not guilty you shouldn't have a fine. If they are guilty the decision is also a disgrace and you should be banned from the competition.

"I don't know if Manchester City are guilty or not but either way it's a disgraceful decision."

At least he has caveated it enough to allow it to be read one of two or more ways.

No one:

Absolutely no one:

Jürgen Klopp (via the ECHO):

He is absolutely right about one thing, though: FFP is certainly there to protect [certain] teams.

I wonder if he thinks it was a good day for football when Liverpool failed FFP in 2013 and 2015 and on the latter occasion fraudulently claimed 50 million in phantom stadium development costs for a non existent stadium? Or when Liverpool hacked City's scouting computer? Or when red scouse scum launched a full scale assault on City's coach and no-one was arrested? Or when red scouse scum killed 39 innocent Italian fans?

Fuck off Klopp you hypocritical bleach toothed twat.

Come on mate, you know none of this was their fault...

Headline, Jose believes innocent City were hard done by a disgraceful fine..

If City were Liverpool, obviously.

Jose really doesn't get irony, does he?

Exposed by Football Leaks for tax dodging in the millions, pleads his innocence and settles for £3m to avoid prison...

He’s a ****
I’d put a 70m bid for Harry Kane just to unsettle him and cause Jose issues
If he even makes it to next season!!

I’d then bAng bids in for star players wanted by every team we are pissed off with
Martinez
Havert
Chillwell
Sancho
Thiago
Let’s get the Fees up as high as possible
Fuck them all!!

The absolute belief in Klopp and Mourinho’s position effectively calling us cheats, followed by them both admitting they know nothing about the case!! Anyone with any integrity in the media will surely realise this has now being exposed for what it is, naked self-interest. It’s worse than a witch-hunt, they’re allowed to admit they’re ignorant of the facts whilst denigrating us.

in the Ziegler Times article, apparently, it wasn’t going well at the end of day 1. Not sure how the CAS process works but, as the appellant, I would have thought City presented their case first?
It is the usual way but agreements can be made to switch the Order. It also maybe the way it is done in CAS. I have not checked the rules to find out.

just watched his comments. He was very shrewd in what he said. It was along the lines of if they are not guilty then they shouldn’t have to pay anything. If they are guilty they should be banned. Either way it’s a disgrace. He was then asked if he thought City were lucky. He said no, if they were not guilty they were unlucky.

To be fair it’s not like he built his career on buying expensive players bankrolled by a billionaire is it!

As for klopp he had less German leagues, less premier leagues and less champions leagues than pep
The only things he has more than pep is teeth and candles
