100 Points Club

I listened to Talksport last night, they had a procession of lfc fans on. most opf them incredulous at not being called "greats". The host told them (Or tried to tell them) that greats win multiple trophies in one season, win back to back titles.

Only in lfc fans heads are they great and tbh overall their title win has been an embarrassment this year. From playing in empty stadiums and new rules and no celebrations, to VARs influence and City's exoneration from CAS and them not even breaking records.

I cant think of a better year for lfc to have won the title, in fact MUCH rather them than City this year.

Cundy was winding them up and some of the Dippers were too thick to realise.

They have nothing to hang their season on, no "Centurions" no "Treble" no "Invincibles" There is nothing to say they have had anything other than a pretty good season. The best thing though is that they WILL call themselves something, and that will be priceless. Lidl champions.

Seen in a couple of places now they idea they'll try and deliberately hit 96 points, which makes you fucking gag, but then at least they could call it "The season for the 96". No-one else will give a shit but it would no doubt make them feel superior.. I mean better.

Bizarrely, Liverpool screwing up breaking our 100 points record, has had the unintended consequence of highlighting the centurions achievement!

They're scratching their heads in Oslo and Milton Keynes, coz it's the first time they've heard of it.
Don’t forget Stockholm, mate.

Don’t care what they say they will be fucking fuming because by not getting that points record they will go down in the history books as just another trophy winner.
To be fair, their title win *is* historic...

Just for all the wrong reasons.

This has put a huge smile on my face

I was resigned to the cult winning the league probably since January. My biggest fear was the dippers going invincible, smashing all our records and obviously the potential CL ban

Well Watford sorted the first one and in the space of 3 days all the other worries have floated off into the sky

Turns out their title win, as well as having a huge asterix next to it, is absolutely nothing special at all anyway.... and now we've got the opportunity in the next month to put them, and everybody else, firmly into our shadow

It'll sting as well because unless they repeat this next season, the legacy of this team as title winners won't be in the pantheon of greats.

It'll be ranked alongside United of '07 and '09, Chelsea '06 and '17, and a couple of others, as very strong but not quite special title wins.
