Each of the 3 companies you named that are totally independent from each other has a 7 % share. Even together they do not have enough influence to veto anything!

No - it is not like at City. The club - and the fans that own 75 % of it - do everything to keep the power in their own hands! The possibility to sell shares is limited to 30 %! That opened the club the possibility to get money for stones, e.g. to pay off the Arena a lot earlier than planned and to build the Campus.

It's 8.33% per each of the 3 companies, giving 25% not owned by Bayern's controlling company.

How's the Qatar airline sponsorship going, no reason to think that might be an influence on anything....
 
Has anyone looked at facebook today. Apparently some has posted on there that 8 Premier League chairman have written to Bournemouth pleading with them not to sell to Man City.

I don't know if that is true or did someone just put it on for a joke. My guess is that it is a joke. However the way that those 8 club's pressured UEFA to start proceedings for breaking FFP. Nothing would surprise me at all.

It does apply to them.

... it just doesn’t cover debt.

Thanks to Mr Gill and Mr Parry and presumably the leaders of the Milan’s, & Juve - all in debt.

FFP was originally proposed to cover debt, but clearly after a few calculations on the back of brown envelopes, it was realised that some clubs would be seriously screwed by having this method of FFP, and it was changed. Not only changed, but radically altered to punish outside investment into clubs vs the clubs current revenue.
Stifling investment on any meaningful level...unless you already had a big revenue. City made it by the skin of their teeth to get to the level of revenue and hence investment allowed, before the FFP drawbridge was raised and no-one New can join that exclusive club.
FFP protects the already wealthy from competition.
As a secondary effect it does mean all the other clubs are less likely to be driven to the wall by keeping them viable, but blocking them reaching the big boys cash cow.

The reality is even IF FFP rules aren’t applied to them their wage bill is higher than anone else’s in the PL and they are building more and more debt in times of economic uncertainty and when their income is looking uncertain and falling. Those they owe money to will be demanding more assurances and higher rates of interest - so things will slowly start to catch up with them. Like Barcelona you can’t keep on borrowing forever, debts need to be serviced and eventually it’s affects your ability to spend. United are saying they are in for Sancho but if they buy him I’m guessing that’s their entire transfer budget and they must be looking to offload some of their higher earners. The Doughnut Thief on £350k per week and Sanchez is allegedly on £200k per week to play for Inter. They are Not a well run ship, their business model is based on unrealistic future growth and their owners are in the midst of a financial meltdown so they’ll be taking money out of United and using what equity United have left to borrow even more money. As a secondary point OT is going to need some serious money spending on it in the next 10 years and United will need to fund that from somewhere !

Debt isn't included in FFP. As far as I understand the dog's breakfast that is FFP investment is frowned upon and outlawed but yer can rack up debt as long as yer can persuade the Uefa committee responsible that yer can pay it off eventually.

Possible scenario:

Uefa: Mr Woodward you seem to have a millstone of debt round your neck. How confident are you that you will be able to repay the creditors?

Ed: Very confident, in fact, super-hyper confident. We have just thrown a new line of photos of Slabhead in goldie-coloured plastic frames into the SuperMegaHyperStore along with all the other Ratner-like shite, er, sorry bespoke United memorablilia, that our universal fanbase will snap up - only the price of a couple of season tickets.
