Where did Silva play at Valencia?

There's a reason Silva is his idol, very similar in terms of where they thrive on the pitch. Silva was versatile with Los Che so he could play all over the pitch but didn't need to play in the forward line when there was already Villa, Joaquin, Morientes, Pablo and Mata

Played in midfield and obviously liked mostly to come in on his preferred left from the right side - everything at Valencia at that time went through Silva, he dictated the play

Not even close. For Valencia, mostly as a #10 and for La Roja he was playing in the right side of the midfield but played behind the trio of Iniesta-Xavi-Busquets

You're wrong on this one mate. He played on the left side numerous times with the standout games in my memory being against Chelsea in the Champions League in the 06/07 and 07/08 seasons. That was the time when I first started watching him and he immediately became one of my favourite players.

And I'm going to use the opportunity to post this goal he scored against them in a group stage match. (Sorry for the shit quality)

Scored a lot of goals for someone playing so deep. ;-)

Yes he did but I wouldn't say he was deep, his #10 role was really as a support striker behind Villa. Beauty of having had so many wonderful wide attacking players ahead of him to leave things on a plate for him

That was a beautiful Valencia attack to watch. To think they had an early Ever Banega too, shame he went off the rails there

He remains #1 on my list of wishlist players to have played for Pep's Barca - should've prioritized his acquisition rather than Cesc

Wait, I'm confused. He played as a support striker behind Villa but was also behind Iniesta-Xavi-Busquets (Busquets???).

Who played first base then?

I hope it's not too traumatic for him when his dogs die which is likely to be soon? They are 11 and 12 years old, dogs typically live 10-13 years. He says in the article "For my sister and me they are everything. In fact we couldn't live without them. They have lived it all with me. Everything we have talked about they have lived with me," he added.

As a dog owner and lover, I know exactly what you mean

Reading the piece on bbc, Torres might turn out a better signing than Sancho. No dobut, Sancho is a more proven player right now but Torres seems to have the mentality to strive for perfection. When Ronaldo and Rooney were 20 y.o., Rooney was considered the bigger talent and the better player. But Ronaldo had the right mentality and surpassed him soon after that.

It's a really weird thing to be concerned about but I swear I thought exactly the same. Saw an interview with him and his sister and they said they had to fight their parents to get those dogs in the first place.

Xabi Alonso and Fabregas were ahead of him in midfield. 4-3-3. He rotated with the likes of Pedro, Jesus Navas and Iniesta on the wings or cam in a narrow 41212

Even Cesc never started ahead of Xavi & Iniesta. Xabi was a holding midfielder so nothing to do with Silva. David & Fab were scoring options off the bench, especially once Spain was unable to provide depth to Villa
