Picking up bits from different reports to somehow guess what is really happening.

Inter Milan will match his United salary for his first year instead of a (free agent) signing fee. The two remaining years will be at a much lower level.
Therefore, Sanchez will only be losing part of his high United wage for one year.
To compensate the difference, United will pay him the rest.

So if he was on the minimum quoted £420k per week = £22m per year
Assuming he would now be on 120k per week (after the first year) = £6.3m per year

Even though these are the lowest possible figures as we know he was on more per week than £420k, it would still mean United having to pay around £16m. I suspect over £20m.

We will have to await their annually figures to reveal what the real figure is. By then nobody will care, and for now it is being sold as shrewd business somehow. Now argue that the press coverage of certain teams isn't biased!!!

570k a week he is on unless that with bonuses. Bottom line the scum haven’t saved 40m that’s utter lies they’ve be paying him of around 25/30m

There’s no way that a player would agree to settle two full years of a very lucrative contract for a "small pay-off".

Any professional worth his salt would demand the full value of the remaining months left.
Don’t forget his loyalty bonus which he would most likely be entitled to if he hadn’t requested a transfer.....all just far too funny.

Nobody knows yet.

The main thing not being reported is that Mikafin was traded in for him to Arsenal.
Mika's current value at the time was £35m.
United paying Sanchez £20m plus not receiving a fee back which would normally be around at least £35m, means the true cost of getting him off the books is nearer £55m.
Saying your saving £40-50m in wages for a player not playing for you for the next two years is fantasy accounting.

The true cost of this demonstration to City that they were bigger/better is nearer:

£35m signing fee (Mikafins true swap value)
£52m Two years wages at United (including all bonuses)
£18m subsidising wages at Milan for one year
£20m "small fee" to get him to leave.

Total = £125m (Oh Sanchez i think i love you! PMSL!)

The only way the press being technically correct is full contract costs:

5 years wages at £26m = £130m
£35m true cost of signing him = £35m

Total = £165m (with zero sell on in two years)

£165m minus £125m already paid out to get rid = Saving £40m!

Does anyone remember the guy that used to be on Iraqi TV during the Gulf War spouting bull shit propaganda?
Has he landed a job as a sports reporter in the British press or Rag PR officer?
Some of the whoppers in the press today about offloading Sanchez and what a masterstroke they've pulled is in a par with the guff he used to spout

See the BBC report he was on 400k a week where everywhere else states 500k.
They also state this gem: As United did not pay a fee for him in the first place - it was a swap deal with Arsenal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan - they have not lost money on that front.

But they spent 30 million on Mkhitaryan so surely that’s a 30 million loss on the deal, in essence Sanchez cost them 30 million

The media in this country are continuously reminding us all what a bunch of spineless, yes men they really are. Many of them are employed either directly or indirectly by that foul, putrid, Skeletor tribute artist, Rupert Murdoch. This utterly loathsome man is like a spider at the centre of a gigantic web: a web that at one time was called ‘the British press’. Fleet Street, and all that.
But then this repugnant semi-human being from a former colony took over the tabloids here and the rest is history.
The hacks that he employs live in fear of him and will only write what he wants them to write, to stray from his dictatorial narrative is to put your head above the parapet - and none of them have the guts to stand up to him.
This is why every tabloid and downmarket tv programme in this country is geared towards promoting the Redshirts over and above everybody else. Because the reptilian megalomaniac tells them too.
We’ll probably never know for sure exactly how and why his favouritism benefits him, but rest assured, there is something decidedly sinister going on...there always is with Murdoch.

Being reported the scum cuunts were after Ake before we signed him.
So they either didn't want him anyway or maybe they can't bully players into joining them anymore?

That's the guy cheers!
A few years ago when the rags looked fucked there was a meme going around on here which had Bobby Charlton's head superimposed on Chemical Ali saying they would always be better than ikkle citeh

Hit the nail on the head there.
A man who became a US Citizen so he could buy a media outlet in the country.

This doesn't excuse Roan, Stone and co at the haven for paedoes known as the BBC.
They are publically funded but are as bad, if not worse than the other hacks.
They hide behind a mask of impartiality even though they're not and they don't rely on advertising clicks from plastic glory hunters.
