We can't play too open against Lyon. They have already beaten and drew with us last season and haven't changed too much.

Who am I to second guess Pep...but why switch up the formation for this match? I can see making adjustments for Bayern, but this is Lyon (no disrespect) who did not have a good season in Ligue 1 and a team we should roll over playing our regular game.

Pep has history of changing it up in the latter stages of CL depending on opponents. Not worked overly well in the past for us.

I'm with you - we're a better team than Lyon and they should be changing their game plan to counter us, not the other way round. Bayern the only team in the competition where its more 50:50 in terms of quality.

add to that there is no link between the defensive 4/5 and the midfield, KDB is to far forward to do it, Rodri and Gundogan can't do it, missing a Silva dropping in that gap. Didn't need to start with Ferni, Rodri and Gundogan. We look short of anything creative in midfield
