Wouldn't we ? I think we would have been in Cl final with him. Barca do not have the same team as us. Messi seems to be a missing dice in the puzzle we have not solved. Of cource a good CB is needed. We need some big game players who can score in difficult times like Messi, ronaldo, Mbappe. We had Yaya once. Pep needs messi and messi needs pep as well. Pep took Bayern to cl semis and city o QF only. It has not been once or twice. It seems like eternal. Someone needs to rescue his overthinking. May be a good assistant coach or someone leader in the pitch. Our team do not have a big game player. When mit matters Sterling and jesus bottles chances.

It would be good for Barca if he leaves. One of the reason barca are in this position is their stars earning too much so the money are not available for good transfers. Their star players have too much power. Suarez, Busquets, Pique, Messi, Rakitic. Most of them must go. Remember Pep sold ronaldinho, Deco and eto after 1 year to make his team. The same situation has happened again. But the board is more culpable. Their decision has led to players power increase.
 
Well after frustating 1/2 days after the game i am slowly coming into the normal terms. Specially after seeing these rumors. It has been a big set back for fans like me. I wonder what is going through the players.
There is always next season. This time hopefully with Messi.

Our squad is perfectly suited for Messi. In fact he is the missing link In that right side position.
One of our most important signing this summer mustbe a good assistant Coach. Unfortunately we have already signed one. He must stop Pep from over thinking. This is important.
 
Rodri was dribbled past twice as often as Fernandinho was the season before. Made a lot less interceptions(35 v 60). Rodri won less aerial duels though had a higher win rate, just engaged a lot less(100 v 165). He was also dispossessed over twice as often(28 v 13).

We've sacrificed protecting our defence for a better passer, despite it being the season our defence needed most protection(Vinny gone and highline with slow cbs).

Imo we need a mobile cdm to rotate with Rodri if we don't want to see similar results vs quick teams next season..

Does he pay for himself? Juventus have got themselves in a right mess with the contract they gave Ronaldo.

Agreed. People think we're in a mess because we won four trophies last year. It appears we have a number of self entitled individuals within our ranks. We're not entitled to anything.

We've been runners up and reached semi and quarter finals. I remember dreaming of getting to the latter stages of a Cup, just so we had a springboard going forwards.

Our management will already have targets in mind, and I'm sure recent events will ensure that they are on board soon enough.
 
Interesting if it happens...also means pep will be staying for a couple more years.

personally, Messi has nothing to gain by moving and he even perhaps taints his Barca legacy in doing so.....plus he will get kicked to fuck every game

We have small number of very specific problems that have caused us to lose games that we have dominated and really should have won. That's why Pep chose an un-Pep like team...

I keep saying, we are a team in transition and that happens to the best of clubs. We are at the end of moving from one generation to another. Our issues as a club are a world away from Barca's. We don't have all the off field issues they have or the level of footballing ones.

We can address most of our problems this summer although I think the full rebuild we are needing will take two summers. However, we should be in a position to genuinely compete in all competitions next season we a few good moves and a bit of tactical tweaking.

At 33,we'd be perfect for him to wind down his career.
He'd still be at a top team challenging for honours,and wouldn't be needing to play every game.
Couple of chill out years and hopefully a few medals to boot.
Just opinion.

I think what we would have to pay him, and pressure from sponsors would mean he would have to play most of the time.

And I also think we are too big of a club to have players, however great they were, winding down their career's in our team.

Juve and Ronaldo, big gamble by Juve to bring him in and win the Champions League and it's failed.Now Ronaldo's crazy contract is killing Juve. I also think Ronaldo in terms of condition/fitness is well ahead of Messi.
