Okay uefa shill, you're the boss. We'll take it on the chin.actually 106 is very low for a c1 match , especially with a 70% possession. This shows u had a very few high intensity runs wich proves ur team was just tired mentally and physically, when lyon rested for 1month then trained for 2. 115 is just a good stat for a defensive team, watch the km of all c1 games...Callin dopin on a french team, ok why not, but we re not spain with dr fuentes lab full of reals and barcas blood preoxyginated, or italy and germany with their magic potions. You were out of shape , and lyon was training for this very day since june.

cl final last year for example was 101 v 103

It is incredible how many we miss, the Sterling chance was beyond belief, like his miss at Burnley that time.

We didn't take our chances because we were exhausted from being up against a drug enhanced side all match. It takes it's toll and is dangerous to our players . We needed a Vardy on the end of those chances last night. Someone who knows how to finish properly. Its finding one that's available at the right price thats the problem.Raz has good as he's been this season is not a natural finisher, never has been.

Exactly - performance was terrible.No win and we’d have got out of jail. That team was a terrible selection even if we had managed to beat an inferior side.
If we had scraped through I would be asking the exact same questions of the set up (that clearly didn't work) and the inability to change as and when required...........
c'mon, we were clearly lined up to get it to penalties. ;)game over before it begun.

When I saw the line up and change in tactics, I kept thinking that Pep was trying out a system in readiness for playing Bayern.
I think that’s why he persevered with it for so long, even though it clearly wasn’t working effectively.
Despite it being a poor performance, at 1-1 it looked like we were going to drag ourselves through and then Pep would have been hailed as a genius. But their dodgy second goal and then Raz’s miss, meant it wasn’t going to work out. That’s football, shit sometimes happens. Suck it up and move on
I think Pep was thinking about the big picture including possible games against Bayern and PSG, and not just about Lyon. And that wasn't a mistake either. Why?
Because we can't play with high pressing and intensity every 4 days. Against Real we covered 112km and made a lot of sprints. We can't play 3 games like the one vs Madrid over just 10 days.
To beat Lyon and stand a chance against Bayern and then PSG, we had to be as fresh as possible, especially given that both Bayern and PSG/Leipzig have more rest than us.
That's one of the reasons why Pep tried a more economical way to play and beat Lyon, in order to have legs and stand a chance against Bayern. It was obvious to the eye that we played with less intensity than against Real.
That was a calculated risk but it backfired because of individual mistakes on our part and VAR. Truth is VAR was decisive for the outcome, not just our performance.
So, I tend to be less critical of Pep now than after the game. The objective wasn't just to beat Lyon but to beat them in a manner that gives us the best chance to win the tournament. Management of resources was necessary. Still, Pep should have made changes earlier and sub not just Ferna but also one from Rodri/Gundy and bring on Foden and Bernardo.
Hindsight is easy though. Pep's just human. I'm grateful for what he has done for City. Centurions and domestic treble winners: feats that have never been achieved before and might not get emulated soon as well.
