None... at... all. From an underlying process and risk level perspective absentee and general mail-in voting are functionally the same.

He and his cronies just want to frame them as completely different (with mail-in voting being subject to high rates of fraud and maleficence) so he can look fine casting his ballot via mail, delegitimise all of the votes likely to be cast against him via mail, and “justify” his actions to restrict/hinder mail-in voting in general.
