Kalidou Koulibaly

Its too much for a player who has achieved next to fuck all. At leat with van Dijk he won something before he arrived in England (and I don't rate that player too highly)

Player prices can put unecessary pressure on a signing as well. Media is ruthless.

There's a lot of moving parts to this whole haggling thing (;

I’m not sure any defender (yes, including VVD - the best CB ever) will drastically improve our defence if we continue to play such a high line with two snails in midfield.

The change has been to basically combine this year and next into a single year's financial results, as I understand it. So it's still on a 3-year aggregate basis but this year and next are treated as one year rather than two.

So you could spend 2 summers worth of money this summer and then not spend at all next summer.

If Koulibaly had played for Celtic at any point over the last 10 years he'd have won stuff too.

True but they did buy him (van Dijk) for much cheaper and it was a lesser risk deal. This is meant to be one of our main centre backs.

Would explain chelseas prospective spend, they could spend last years, this years and next years all in one splurge. A risk though if some signings don’t work out.
Chelsea are carrying a huge loss from 2019 of £96m. They made £60m profit in 2018 so they'll have to break even, certainly avoid a big loss, over the next 2-year period

Thought this year was a write-off for FFP, due to pandemic? Thought that’s why everyone had their cheque books out, but nobody wants to spend!?

Didn’t realise they had that 2019 loss. Can’t see how they can buy Werner, Havertz, Chilwell and a keeper without some big sales then. Especially in the current climate.

Doesn't the amount the top clubs get from Sky and the CL more than cover that?
