He may have made the odd faux pas but for me he encapsulated the dry wit and cynicism of wags you’d hear on the kippax in days gone by and as such was a welcome stamp of authenticity in the otherwise sterile / cheesy / alien “matchday experience” that the appalling Ferris and his like foist upon us.

I would love to see McLean take on Ferris in a cage fight, the winner to be City’s mc thence forth - that’s be a half time to look forward to.

The difference between him and Mike is that one of them is a Blue and one of them couldn’t give a fuck about City. Also one of them bad mouths us on national radio. Mike had to go, so does the Ferret, but much more so

It’s hard enough arguing against the press for that myth. But someone employed by the club?

He needs to go. And not just for this. He makes my skin crawl on a match day and is an embarrassment to the club.

I just tried to make a complaint and tell them how city fans feel about the guy. They don't make it easy for themselves.

@Prestwich_Blue is this something you could mention at City matters? I know there are more pressing issues, but this is probably one of the few issues we can all agree on, the guy is a twat.

Not sure what's worse, the fact city still employ this tw*t despite making such comments or the fact the license fee payers support his wages allowing him to spout shite about the club.

Can't stand his work - maybe he is a nice guy personally (I don't know him obviously) but he just comes across as a cringey dickhead professionally and I hate that he is associated to City in that function.

He had a small dig about Raheem's wages being too much as well on one of his matchday podcasts.
I found it very strange.
Would have said yes last year but not now.
 
Professional interviewer / presenter / communicator
- credible in front of guests, visitors, fans of all levels
- relevant originality (sick of hearing Natalie/Danny asking "how would it be to play in this team now?")
- appeal to the corporate audience and casual fan. Llike it or not, it's where the money comes from

Local appeal
- don't neglect or forget the core fanbase (as demonstrated by using Ferret)
- can show understanding appreciation of City gallows humour (Maclean good at this)
- Could handle Ricky Hatton on stage if that ever happened again

Cares about City
- Not like Ferret
 
I would get rid of him Danny and that stupid annoying Natalie.

The bloke off BBC news would be my choice Clive something cant remember his full name.
