I have full confidence that the Navy will be sending zero ships to patrol the Channel to hunt for rubber dinghies.

The proposal is a PR exercise to reassure the public that ‘something is being done’. The reason we are seeing these crossings is the lack of legal and safe routes into the UK. Provide more legal avenues and you are on your way to solving the problem. There you go, solution in one paragraph. No need to thank me.

God almighty, is that the best you've got? Britain is a United Kingdom, united under one monarch. No country operates open borders, it's total insanity and no administration would exist that propounded it, if anyone actually put it in a manifesto the total sum of its supporters wouldn't equal a netball team.
4 or 5 on here would probably make up most of them.

She does seem to be an obsession for a certain type of poster. I’m surprised we haven’t seen a thread having a pop at David Lammy, he seems to be another one that , like Dawn Butler, triggers the gammon. There is something in common between them, can’t put my finger on it.

If by ‘the best’ you mean a Union of four separate countries with open borders that you are a citizen of then, yes. Personally, I thought it was fucking hilarious, as well as being ‘the best’.

If you want more then the EU operates ‘The Schengen Area’ which is an area comprising 26 European countries that have officially abolished all passport and all other types of border control.

That area comprises some 500 million people. Which is a lot of netball teams.

A lot of it is indeed a load of rubbish, the governments record of action on immigration is horrendous no matter which view you happen to fall on. They aren't helping people nor are they stopping people and it's a great question to ask what they actually are doing.

The MOD was recently asked by the Home Office to support and they sent an RAF A400M which patrolled the area for a few hours and I believe it yielded nothing whatsoever. The exercise probably cost somewhere in the region of £10k-£20k per hour.

The fact that Priti Patel was visiting Dover on the same day had nothing to do with it, none whatsoever....

Sending in the Navy or the military at all is a completely ridiculous idea unless the knuckle draggers are advocating using the Navy to help the search and rescue exercise which I doubt. My guess is they think they'll be turned around or shot at by the Navy but that isn't the case because it's against the law in all respects to do so.
