Eric Garcia to Barcelona

I hope he reconsiders. His composure for his age is impressive. And, Pep picking him over Otamendi, Stones, and even Fernandinho says a lot. There's no way to go but up for this kid.

Like I said as soon as you decide you're going with 3 at the back, Garcia was always going to play because Pep rated him higher
 
He will be fantastic for Barcelona and why we should hold out for 25m minimum because this time next year they’ll be all saying 25m was a pittance for him.

Stupidly imo.

He is currently by far our worst defender & plays offside like a robot.

Both barely played post-restart but you're right, it would've been so much smarter playing John Stones or Nicolas Otamendi in a Champion's League knockout than Eric Garcia. I'm sure this opinion wasn't shaped by Garcia wanting to leave at all.

Whereas playing a slow, clueless kid, was a fucking fantastic idea & just look how it worked out & who would have thought it beforehand ?

And who had the idea of not giving our real cbs any match fitness in the Prem, trusting a kid, a slow shit kid cb who shit on him ?

Oh & I am on record, from way back, on here, re Garcia, so no, it isn't because he's leaving, it's because he's so far been shit at defending & has no right to be anywhere near our team, on football merit.

If he ever became good enough, I'd have had no problem with him, but now he is leaving he doubly shouldn't have been playing.

That night is one of the biggest fuckups in CL history.

Pretty sure it was Pep Guardiola's idea? And he was right, because whatever you think about Garcia, Stones and Otamendi were worse.

The two goals were because of Walker being too deep (and the midfield not pressuring the guy who played it in behind) and Laporte's shit pass and then poor refereeing.

How can you say Garcia is the reason we lost and his selection is a fuckup?

This game is stupid considering Garcia wasn't at all responsible for losing against Lyon, but probably a few? Arsenal definitely. Either way, he's so shit that Barcelona are trying to sign him. His agent must be tremendous.

Totally disagree.

For a neutral view, with no prior opinion on Garcia, ask BT who described Garcia as 'amatuerish' at the time & again showed us, last night, as an example of when not to play offside.

While that's an obviously untrue statement I'm not sure what relevance Barcelona's current defense has to the ability of Eric Garcia, who played for Manchester City this year? Unless you're arguing that Barca are known for targeting and signing bad players?
