Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Bet the Sheikh, Pep and players are absolutely fine with no European glory because "true City fans" aren't bothered. Maybe we need some PR to help our fans understand the importance of progression in Europe for this club, given the stage we have now reached. How can you stand the fact that Spurs have reached a CL final with Pochettino, when in fact our coach and our squad is head and shoulders above, and we got embarrassed in quarters by their side. If that doesn't make our fans want better from us idk what can
Do you watch our games ? have you seen how the ref'ing and VAR has fucked us over in both the CL and PL. Do you know our team coach was attacked to unsettle our players in the CL. You need alot of luck to win knock out competition and an even playing field , something City dont get in the CL.
Yes i thought that team selection against Lyon but bloody hell i dont want the worlds best manager and our most successful sacked because of it !

Yes with luck like liverpool had in that season City would have won the CL at least twice VAR or bent ref'ing has made sure we havent won it so far, nothing to do with our managers

Sure does. Pep made that tie weak in the first leg losing away game when Spurs were clearly shaky and were there for the taking but instead he put out a cautious side that created barely anything and eventually conceded that 1 unnecessary goal that ended up being the difference in overall tie. As for refs, they did award us that penalty that Kun missed. So the players and Pep have had it for them, they've just not taken the opportunity and bottled it.

World's best manager is not irreplaceable mate. He's human, he will one day run out of ideas too, and all I said was maybe he is not the guy to carry us far in Europe, I hope he does, but I can't see it. We'll see next season, I hope we win the league, but all I said was I wish to see CL progress, if he does not deliver that in his 5th season in charge, then maybe we should consider our options, he is definitely a one of a kind coach but teams have moved on and also won with others, I'm sure so will we when he eventually goes. That is all.

Never stated he should be sacked btw, just that maybe a 5 year tenure under Guardiola is enough, and we could take the next step onwards with someone else as we already have a well established squad that wouldn't need many changes be it any manager. Just someone who understands the demands and needs and is pragmatic enough.

I expect Khaldoon and Mansour turn up the pressure for CL win if PSG manages to win tonight and getting their owners from Qatar to huge CL glory.

if this is the new fans at City i am beginning to wish we were still a yoyo club at least it was fun being a City fan, it was about going to Maine Road because its our club. We arent entitled to win anything and to be honest i dont really like this new thinking that we should be winning the league, CL regularly. In the last 2 seasons City have won everything bar the CL most fans of other clubs would take that , seems for some City fans its not enough now

Very lucky, they could have been playing in Europa League had Alisson not made the save from Milik shot in the Napoli game vs them. But then again, they also reached the final year before, where call it luck or whatever but Karius blessed us with that moment. Good teams have to force their own luck

VAR and a few dodgy seasons knocked us out against Liverpool.

Who's saying we should be winning the league regularly? I was not expecting us to get 100 points once again after two unbelievable seasons in the league. The only expectation with this level of squad is some progress in CL, some show of quality. If we even went out to Bayern in semis I would of held my hand up saying they were the better side, but are we lesser than many teams in world football? You have to take it for what it is. I know a lot of older/core fanbase wishes somehow it was a yoyo club so there'd be no pressure but it is what it is now. It comes with the territory, eventually we will all have to adapt.

Progress in CL is not about winning it regularly but at least a final/semis on regular. This team is completely capable of it, I'm sure you'd agree to that. Eventually we will win it, but does it necessarily have to be under Pep?

He is busy likng his mates posts
This is weird behaviour. I have no idea who that user is. I am stating my own opinion here, stop calling users dippers or rags or connected because of a post here.

Progress in CL .....

its only our tenth season in the CL and the last to season we have become regular the last 8 in europe. Took pisscan 13 years to win it with a squad that was the best in the PL and regularly broke the British transfer record. So going by this Pep has another 8 seasons yet !

Fergie could wish his side was as good or play an ounce as good football as we do under Pep. Different times too, ones failure can't be used as an argument for another's. Our side is much more capable than some of those Fergie sides that even got knocked out of group stages in CL. Prem standards are way higher now overall.

Exclusive: Understand Mikel Arteta keen to make Brentford coach and set-piece specialist Andreas Georgson part of his backroom team.

Hmm Could Pep bring this guy in to work on our freekicks, corners?

We probably conceded about the same goals from our corners being exposed to quick counter attack from it as how many we scored and we probably have the most corners in league.

You obviously didn't see the game

Yeah but this year we were drawn against a third rate French outfit and still went out. The Lyon loss was ridiculous really considering the personnel available to each team.

Yeah they got their little anti pep brigade going on. They are like the press these posters, got nothing better to do than nitpick at us.

Most of the twats masquerading as serious journalists will have accounts on here.

I agree it was ridiculous but that's football. If VAR had done its job the team Pep picked that night might have won. Yet again we were done over by VAR, but all this calling from some fans not renew our most successful manager is wrong.
Some great managers have never won the CL, it's not easy to win.
I feel to many City fans got wrapped up in the press/media saying this was our best chance, we were favourites, we had put all our eggs into winning CL. Pep trys to win ever competition.
I was as angry as the next man after the Lyon game but that's not throw the manager out with the bath water !

I don't think we're particularly bad at defending set pieces, but you're maybe right that we could be better attacking them. I think we're alright with freekicks, but our corners are not anything praiseworthy.

I am certainly not thinking Pep should go but how you think it was VAR that caused us to lose to Lyon and not Peps choice of players is ridiculous.
