Had a letter regarding an insurance policy to notify me that it is relocating operations from London to Brussels due to passporting concerns. Ironic that thanks to Brexit, my policy administration is moving from the UK to the EU.

Swings and roundabouts mate. I had a letter regarding a policy I hold saying they were relocating from Brussels to Birmingham for exactly the same reasons.

Given that the referendum was nearly 5 years a go / 2 governments a go, are people still happy to go ahead especially when you factor in the impact of Covid and not many deals have been struck?

5 years is a long time, a lot can happen so surely now we have a better view of what the prospect looks like we should have a final referendum?

Nope, nothing has changed, you won’t find one leaver on here or anywhere else that has any doubt Brexit is turning out exactly as they expected

enjoy it, after this coming next

Scottish independence referendum ;

irish unification.

I think the welsh will stay.

Alas, I am unlikely to enjoy the breaking up of our Union and the ending of a 300 year chapter in our history. I can see the logic in Irish unification, even if the people of Ireland on both sides of the border were content with the status quo until we knackered it up with our indifference and forced the issue.

I was content with the Indy Ref decision in 2014 and fondly imagined we were would build upon it, and the promises made during the campaign, and strengthen our Union. Unfortunately we decided to knacker that up as well with Brexit and our indifference to devolved sensibilities.

I’m unconvinced by the merits of constitutional vandalism and needlessly breaking things just because we can, but then I’m an old fashioned romantic soul at heart. I also don‘t think I’m ready to surrender my ‘British’ identity as it is currently defined. I sometimes wonder how psychologically prepared we are for that loss, the loss of the nation we were born into and which will no longer exist.

This really surprises me about you, I’d have thought you’d have wanted the opposite.

For the record I agree.

Yep, welcome to becoming a citizen of our new country.
Kingdom of Great Britain (KGB) if Scotland stays.
Or Federation of Southern Britain (FSB) if Scotland departs and Wales gets additional autonomy.
Vlad will be delighted.

Seems you've missed the point. I'm not talking about the relocation of business. After all, for the Brexiteers trade is much lower down the Brexit reasons list than regaining sovereignty and not having to follow EU rules.
My insurance will be moving from a UK jurisdiction to an EU jurisdiction. Taking back control?

imagine we just voted remain and could have avoided all this bollox we've had endlessly for the last few years

Sadly the cunts that have been driving Brexit for decades would not have given up.

The UK was seen as the weak link and the country most susceptible to being broken away from the EU. I'm not sure where the next target will be but there will be one.

Surely the clear benefits of remaining within the EU will prevent other bastions leaving - especially when they see the poverty striker wasteland that the UK has become?

Is that you admitting you made it up?
No way, if I did you'd have as another brexit lie and be after another referendum. I'm surprised your insurance company didn't relocate to somewhere more advantageous from a taxation point of view tbh - Luxembourg or the cayman islands would seem obvious choices.

I'm sure they have a better idea than you where best to locate their business.

Why are you waffling about referendums? Very odd.

Or just the Kingdom of England.

Really? I’ve always supported our Union. It makes us a better, more rounded country. I support the European Union as I believe in international cooperation and elimination of unnecessary barriers to trade and people. To me it’s freedom.

Just didn’t think he’d give a shit about the UK.
I would say that in general more Remainers give a shit about the UK than Leavers do. Leaver patriotism doesn't seem to extend beyond England as a general rule. I'm sure there are plenty of Brexiteers who will deny that but it's just the impression I get from quite a few on here.
