Fantasy, even for billionaires
Agreed RED cnut but the deal for Lionel is too great, even for us.Fuck this rag shite off. I feel like I need to bathe my eyes.
Simply a red gobshite.
The funny thing is, I fancied us to beat Bayern but was concerned we wouldn't beat Lyon.Bayern look streets ahead of us at the mo. After watching the Barça mauling, I was thankful we didn’t get past Lyon to play them. Their defence is actually not the most solid but the team as a whole. They won every single CL match, which is some achievement. Their players look very hungry.
I’m also noticing how a number of posters feel the red dippers need so little strengthening compared to us. And that’s on top of a very skinny transfer sortie last year. Yet Klopp is so often denigrated on here vs Pep.
While Pep’s undoubtedly still one of the top men, he’s certainly high maintenance in financial terms and several fault lines were laid bare last season.
Looking at us last season, we were the ones run into the ground from the previous seasons exertions! The funny thing is, I fancied us to beat Bayern but was concerned we wouldn't beat Lyon.
As for the dippers, Klopp has a very specific way of playing football and he drives his team into the ground, he has built a very good first 11 but fuck all outside of that.
Pep is high mainteance but then the football you get is better than anyone else on the planet when it comes together e.g. 2017-2019.
She's not that big.And that is how signing the best player in the world pays for itself.
How would you or any of us know ? Any deal for Messi is a different ball game to any other deal. I doubt anyone on here is qualified to say how this deal would be structured and paid for and we don't need to know. As Tolmie said it's outside any of our other transfer finance, and probably outside the normal wage financing too.Agreed RED cnut but the deal for Lionel is too great, even for us.
LolI think we're sometimes scared of what other people will think if we go on another big spending spree. Our owners seem desperate to be liked.
Exactly, so in the covid world how are we going to pay for a player on well north of 500k week maybe 1 million and keep within FFP?How would you or any of us know ? I think we can make the figures work, nobody turns down the chance to sign Messi.Exactly, so in the covid world how are we going to pay for a player on north of 500k week and keep within FFP?
If covid was not an issue, I think we would be knocking down Barca's doors to get Messi, there would be queues all around the Etihad and every ground he appeared at.
Sponsors would be fighting each other to get part of the action.
But sadly we live in a Covid depressed world economy, money is hard to find anywhere!
Do you, like who?I think we can make the figures work, nobody turns down the chance to sign Messi.
Sponsors will be fighting over themselves to get a piece of the club. Big companies don't give a fuck about Covid. I know for some companies these last few months have never been so profitable.
The last time we ever buy players for the first team lol6 new signings
As I said on June 30th:
At 36 mate, your still a kid in my eyesIf we do sign messi, im getting a shirt with him on the back, just like a kid. I'm 36 but I'll make an exception for the best player in the world!
To be fair if we sign him it won't just be our shirts that'll be Messi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If we do sign messi, im getting a shirt with him on the back, just like a kid. I'm 36 but I'll make an exception for the best player in the world!
Its been repeated a good few times, signing Messi does not impact signing anyone else. This is a true one off. We have had this deal in place for years should the moment ever come. We haven't held back previously and I don't think we are about to start now.Do you, like who?
The economic issues have not yet begun, this thing is not going away any time soon.
As said 2 years ago, incredible signing but it's not a good time, we need 4/5 high class , long term signings.
This summer they must be made, never a better time to enter the market, but please don't blow the budget on one player.
Again I have no idea, what finance, or which sponsors are available. All I'm saying is none of us do. If the club can find away then great if they can't then they won't. Covid or not there will still be some people and companies making huge amounts of money. Whether they want to spend it on being attached to Messi and us, only those invovled in looking would know.Exactly, so in the covid world how are we going to pay for a player on well north of 500k week maybe 1 million and keep within FFP?
Barca may want a transfer fee, or maybe Bernardo.

£300m has always been the(maximum) Summer Transfer Budget.
