An election takes place, but ‘national issues’ cause the leader to gain sweeping powers to bring the ‘nation together’, over the next few years the leader eliminates all opposition, removes legal constitutional process and begins mass oppression of factions who are ‘against the great nation’. Neighbouring nations are homogenised and absorbed with little international pushback.
Only when appeasement takes a backseat does the greatest economy in the world start acting to limit the overreaching fascist dictatorship and eventually forces an invasion of the lands taken, before sweeping into the heartland and removing the despotic leader.

1933 or 2020?
Germany or USA?
USA or China?
Hitler or Trump?

And yet 2 years ago, people on here were scoffed at for daring to suggest such a thing as even a similarity between now an 1930's Germany.

Not really that much of a leap these days though.

1st thing I said after trump was elected was that the US was now a Banana republic.

nothing in 3.5 years has made my thoughts change... other than the rhetoric in the past 5 months changing to long term dictatorship groundwork.

trump lies at an average of once per tweet.
He’s been named in more court actions whilst president than all other presidents put together.

the basics of him as a person, are obvious.
