There’s always a load of posturing. Remember when GPC said he wouldn’t sell Real Madrid a virus? The same Real Madrid he sold Beckham, Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo to
I suppose it depends on if you're arsed about fucking over your greatest heroes or whether you're more arsed about the club you support getting the best deal they can.
I get your point, I'm not arguing with you, it's difficult.
agreed but in a business that counts for 100's of millions of pounds (and more) honour may not come into it
Even if you looked at it entirely from the point of view of your club, I think you still conclude that it's better to take £100m now than retain a demotivated player for 6 more months.
If a City player had given his entire career for my club, I would at the very end feel dishonoured if I did not respect the player. It's easy to say that from our position I know.
Hopefully they let him leave, surly they can’t risk him going for free next season. Looks like city will have to pay something for him.do you keep messi against his will after everything he’s done for that club? They’ve had his best years. C’mon they should be waving him off into the sunset with thank you messi banners surely?
Messi wants city. City want Messi. Barca won’t want their most iconic and best loved player ever staying by force or leaving in the courts. It’ll get done. At least a week of postering to come first
Even so, it should.
I don't think I'd continue supporting City, if we treated our best players like that.
I imagine he was pissed off most of the season and wanted to leave before the drubbing by the german rags, so he says to his Dad 'Ive had enough - I want out, I'm going to speak to Pep'.
His Dad would say ' lets see if we can still use the clause - I'll check with the Agent'.
Then, the Agent checks with his very expensive legal team ( presumably the team that replaced the firm that gave him tax advice) and they say ' Yeah, watertight' or ' thats gonna be difficult'.
What I trying to say is, he either got legal on it or he was petulant ( understandably)
All the scribblers and fanny merchants seem to be deflecting the question as to whether he has the right to do it - which in the end must be the question. Well does he....punk?
I don't believe City would treat him like that if the situation was reversed & our fans would be outraged if they did.
A token fee with Garcia thrown in, ought to be the end if it. They save 170 million quid by doing that.
I might have had a few beers ;)What kind of posters should I look out for?
Doubt it, loads of stories but I read there was a basketball player in a similar situation and he lost in court. If that happens and"Bartomeu doesn't want to sell Messi"?
I don't think he will sell Messi.
I think he will end up free,IMO.
hopefullyPerfect scenario for a "meet you somewhere in the middle" outcome.
Lucky I didn't post the same mistake in the Messi thread eh?What kind of posters should I look out for?
£100m plus Garcia and Angelino seems like a reasonable compromise, and enough for both sides to save face, given his age, contract situation and seeming desire to leave.
You think then, that if Aguero had told us he wanted to leave, we should ask 200 mil for him & if nobody paid it, tell him to get to fuck ?
