And mine.
And a few others; I feel a Spartacus moment coming on.

Jokes aside, @SWP's back had to humour a long rant version of that thread from me not long ago, arising from my frustrations with many people seemingly being fixated on tidy — and very unlikely — “rule of law” resolutions to Trump’s autocratic madness, so I thought it only fair to him to specifically acknowledge that this is a far more eloquent treatment of my thoughts.

As always, thanks for sharing the thread, mate.

I posted it in the hope that those who don't seem to accept the parallels between the Trump Administration and a certain fascist dictator from our recent history might read it and learn something.

It is certainly more eloquently written than the inane ramblings of a few loons on a football forum.

As for the 'Rule of Law'. That's going well given that he's just blatantly ignored the Hatch Act, with seemingly zero consequences. Trump's Chief of Staff proclaiming 'nobody cares about the Hatch Act' perfectly demonstrates they are intent on ignoring any laws that don't fit their agenda.

I have been trying to expose the similarities of the Trump admin (and Republican support) to previous and current authoritarian regimes (some I have lived/worked under for a time) — and articulate why American institutions, laws, and political norms may not be sufficient to constrain him — for some time, so no need to convince me.

Hopefully more are coming around to that reality we have been attempting to make more clear. I know personally the effort has been at times a very frustrating struggle, as people generally didn’t want to believe that the “rule of law” wouldn’t be enough to stop Trump, both on here and in the world-at-large; as of late even more so due to physical limitations, mostly restricting my interactions to the digital domain. Though the latter was always likely to go poorly, as a Spanish-Brit gobbing off about Americans sleepwalking in to fascism, to Americans, was never going to be received well (and that’s fair enough; I wouldn’t take the reverse well, either).

Suffice it to say, you and I have been agreement on the matter for quite awhile — likely before we even began conversing in this thread.

Nah, I just wanted a couple of posters that aren’t well versed on the history of authoritarian regimes to give it a read.

Revels in the anger and suffering of others.

Quite the psychopath really.
As has been said on here and elsewhere many times (including by his own family members), he has all of the hallmarks of severe antisocial personality disorder.

The DSM-5 defines antisocial personality as someone who has 3 or more of the following traits:
  1. Regularly breaks or flouts the law
  2. Constantly lies and deceives others
  3. Is impulsive and doesn’t plan ahead
  4. Can be prone to fighting and aggressiveness
  5. Has little regard for the safety of others
  6. Irresponsible, can’t meet financial obligations
  7. Doesn’t feel remorse or guilt

This sort of media confrontation, harassment, and assault are only going to become more severe and frequent over the next few months as Trump and co directly and indirectly encourage his followers to act on his “enemy of the people” rhetoric.

Listen to this in full.

Either he’s had far far too many drugs today or a stroke.

And that was back in December 2017 — there have been more and worse examples of his physical and cognitive decline since.

And he wasn’t exactly starting with much to work with.

This was yesterday.
