Christ you talk some shit.
OK so if you had the choice of 3 players to sign for Man City: Neymar, Mbape and Messi you would take Messi?

That's ridiculous. Messi has a very limited time span ahead and is already behind those two

I can tell you’re a proper fan.

most of my neutral mates also say they would love to see him in the PL, whoever he ends up playing for.

the few pool and Utd mates I have all think he is past it, would destroy our team, would find it hard in the PL, is only coming for money....etc etc

Class player who would give you a good couple of seasons a least

At the time of the transfers Neymar and Mbappe were better players. Messi is the best player ever but not now. He is regarded with awe but those who argued that his decline was imminent were right. We have seen that decline, however he's still a great player and the players transfer request makes a deal feasible.

The deal is also attractive for the economic and feel good factor associated with it. It would be a mission for every City player and fan for City to win trophies for Messi. It would entirely change the perception of our club across the world. The media, Klopp etc emphasise the cost but they forget that it works for barcelona in terms of revenue generation, and they don't have international clubs like the City Football Group.

The thing is Marvin, and this has been proven time and time again, you don’t actually watch their matches and just pull out random thoughts from your own mind with no actual evidence behind them.

In what way are Neymar and Mbappe better than Messi? Messi scores more goals, gets more assists, is better at set pieces and is still a better passer & dribbler than both of them.

Messi would destroy the French League playing for PSG so it’s not even a fair comparison anyway, even if Messi still comes out on top.

*THIS WAS FROM YESTERDAY SO DON'T LOSE YOUR SHIT*

Just a warning to people who live on twitter or like twitter more to the point. This tweet had a lot of us running for the hills, it was obviously someone trying to cash in on the Messi situation currently engulfing everything and reeling people in.
Be aware of these attention seeking tweets

you are right... I just read this brilliant in depth article about Bartomeu and holy fucken shit. Its really messy in there. I am more convinced now that this whole thing is a ploy to get a transfer fee for Messi and the 700m or fuck off release clause is just a starting point thatll end up around that 100-150m mark to wipe Barcas debts.

Barto wants Messi out. This article also really explains well the crazy poltiical shit going on over there.

Excellent and informative article. I had an idea of the shit going on in Barcelona behind the scenes but this just puts the meat on the bones.

Then read a post further down from @SebastianBlue and his additional info saying the financial plight is even bigger than alluded to in the link.

Agree Barto wants Messi out. It feels like he has no choice other than the posturing to wring as much €€ as he can.

Cos he's Pep and he's weird haha. He's said repeatedly in the press that he think Messi should never leave Barcelona. Wouldn't be surprised if he told him that too. Of course it may not happen, but it'd be classic Pep.

No offence but personally I think it’s preposterous to think our Execs would be this far down the road and Pep (or Messi) not to be100 per cent on board. After all the UEFA / CAS debacle I think we will be quite keen to get our ducks in a row.

I'd take Mbappe, Salah, Neymar ahead of Messi at the moment. Messi has declined. You can see that clearly in his gals return in La Liga. Is he still a great player yes, but undoubtedly he is not as effective as he was.

When PSG bought Neymar he had his best years ahead of him. Messi's best years are behind him.

Salah hahahahaha

Well fortunately marv you are nowhere near running a football club.

He is past it, and it is a potentially toxic signing. If City sign him it is desperation beyond belief.

Past it?

He played 32 league games, scored 25 goals, got 21 assists and got man of the match 22 times.

Now show me another player who has contributed in their respective league as much as Messi has...

I will be waiting a long time buddy...
