Oceanic insanity = City’s big cheese have flown out to Sheikh Mansour’s private yacht to meet Messi for talks on there in international waters, thus avoiding the Covid quarantine upon return?

Surely if we're offering up Gundogan as part of a potential deal with Barca it suggests we'd happily listen to offers? Hints maybe at another midfielder, no?

Skimming this through at half-time then it sounds like we will be able to agree terms with Messi, however we still have to agree a deal with Barca.
No doubt we can agree terms with Messi, the hard part is breaking a deal with Barca.

I'd rather we paid them fuck all and then sell them players we want to move on

So would I but having heard the likes on Khaldoon and Txixi talk over the last few years, they want to build and maintain relationships with clubs...im thinking we will (even if we dont have to) give them a player or two in exchange plus a chunk of change. We will want to maintain good relations with one of the most powerful clubs in the world for the future

Considering many people portray us and see us as evil it does make sense to make relations with the big clubs

We have proposed a very innovative way of paying him through the CFG. FFP can't touch it, seemingly.

As a result, Messi will be paid very much in line with the rises the club also have in the pipe for Raz and Kev, so about £375k a week plus other bonuses.

Guardiola is now driving this bus. I'm so fucking happy, even sounds like Barca can get fucked on anything substantial in terms of cash.

Garcia, Gundo, Stones, Otamendi, Cancelo, Zinchenko and Angelino, they can have their pick, but we will not be sending any tier one their way.
While I've not heard anything on this, you're always reliable and the figures make sense.

I reckon his base wage is around €400k a week, with the rest coming from commercial deals. That's what Paul Stretford did for Rooney, when everyone was reporting he was on £350k a week. He wasn't. He got around £200k from United and the rest through a joint venture between him and United that took a cut of commercial deals they'd negotiated where he was included as part of the promotion. There's about £20m of assets in that company currently.

We do our commercial deals through a company called City Football Marketing, which negotiates global and local contracts with sponsors and takes a commission. So I'd imagine we'd do something similar for Messi so it's his money and never touches City's books, bar the proportion of the marketing deals involving him that we keep.
