There is something to understand with Messi. His best performances were with a strong midfield(Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets,Fabregas,Thiago,Yaya Toure) able to bring the ball close to the surface or when he was playing with exeptionnals forwards(Suarez, Neymar, Etoo,Villa). He didn't have any of that the last three seasons at Barcelona.

Messi playing at city will be a massacre because he will have the strong midfield and the forwards. He was doing everything at barça(midfield and forward) that's why some people have the feeling he is declining but it's a mistake.

A 20 goal decline in a season suggests he is past his best at 33. He is currently a rat leaving a sinking ship and I would kick him as far away as I could, rather than pay his stupid wages which will rip the team apart causing long term damage.

Attack as a team and defend as a team. These stats just show that the team around him is not functioning, as everybody knows.

Puma must be laughing with all this! Potential of Messi playing in their shirt and now Neymar joining ranks. Got me thinking, are any of you as sad as me and only buy the brand we play in. Literally refuse to wear Adidas, unashamedly so.
