TV Series

Brilliant, I love this show!

When I heard it hadn't gotten more than 2 series I thought it was wrong as there were so many pathways it could take with the time jumps!

Thank goodness for Netflix with a decent budget behind it!! I would think Netflix would be good for, at least, 2 more in the series!

The problem for me is that the series didn't do individual stories within the major overall plot so well, I would have preferred it to have had strong plots within ea
ch episode with ends to those small plots.

I'm a big Trekkie but this series wasn't for this FOC.

Honestly, you'd have to watch it to get a sense of what I'm talking about.

I understand people like 'easy' comedy and 'Father Ted' is a WONDERFUL example of such an offering... and then you get 'Ted Lasso' and the differences are utterly stark!!

I cannot reduce it down any more than that!
Something worse than Father Ted?
Impossible!

Mmm... I thought they did!!

'Michael Burnham' is the 'Kirk' of the whole thing with others getting their stories throughout the series!

The format was a classic one.

I just thought they let loose with the action that sorely lacked in other versions that threatened it, but never really delivered!

"Father Ted" an easy comedy? Things like "As Time Goes By" and "My Family" are easy comedies.

I probably phrased it badly!

What I meant was 'Father Ted' took complicated subjects, if they visited them, and boiled it down to the stupidity of the situation rather than make TV for the stupid.

It's a huge difference in making a show.

Just discovered Cobra Kai on Netflix. The brilliant premise is catching up 35 years after the Karate Kid with Danny Larruso and his 80s nemesis Johnny. Now Danny's rich and successful, Johnny's a loser. There are plenty of clips from the original film interspersed with how these characters come into conflict again. Is it cheesy? More than a multipack of Wotsits, Ringos and Cheetos combined. There are 2 series so far of 10 episodes each. Running time is about 20 - 30 minutes. Its undemanding comedy drama but great fun. I watched the 1st series yesterday in one go, even the missus enjoyed it. A certain sensei makes an appearance at the end of the last episode. A 3rd series will be released next year so hopefully the series will reach a wider audience.
