Two sides of the meeting IMO:

Bartomeu - Messi has a contract to 2021, we don't want to sell him, if he wants to leave someone will have to meet his 750m release clause. Or he can sign a contract extension to 2023 and we will rebuild the squad around him and Koeman.

Messi Snr - My boy wants to leave, the club has gone to the dogs and you are responsible. My son's contract has a clause which allows him to leave for free, and if you don't we'll be getting FIFA involved. Koeman?? Are you taking the piss, he nearly got Everton relegated.
Hahahaha

I think the odds that nothing will happen in that meeting are quite high. Jorge Messi says Lionel wants to leave, Bartomeu says he can't.

Puma is booked as commercial revenue, as you know and of course it can be re-negotiated and 100% will if Messi signs.

You have no idea how much of our commercial income comes from AD owned companies, that’s fine, none of us have the individual deals and figures in front of us. But there’s zero way you can prove or even argue with some validity that 80% of our commercial income comes from AD. It’s fine to admit when you’re wrong.

How can the Puma contract be ripped up because we sign a player?

Total commercial revenue is £227m in YE2019. You say Puma is c£65m leaving £162m. 80% of that is £126m. We know that Etihad is at least £67.5m from CAS and it is probably more with bonuses in 2019. I need to find max £58.5m pa from Etisalat, VisitAD, AD Bank, Nexen and no doubt others in that list. I'm pretty confident it's 80%. I don't know. I never claimed to know. As we all know this whole forum is speculation.

So, the following question is about to be answered: is the Greatest player Of All Time about to join Manchester City or is the tax-dodging midget going to stay at Barcelona? Stay tuned, folks...

Hopefully if we get through today without him being a tax dodging midget, we are safely into GOAT signing for City, territory.

Premier League players are genuinely excited about the prospect of playing v Messi, if the interviews so far are anything to go by.

Only half the media who are in the pockets of the Cartel, are looking at the negatives.

Players, even some rags & scousers are looking at the bigger picture of what this means for the league they work in.

As they should be. Outside of it increasing the chances of them getting beat twice a season, it would be a positive thing for other players. Better players in the PL means more money in the PL means more money for PL clubs means players can negotiate higher salaries

No, what did he do?

Hope nothing daft like starting a video game streaming channel on where he plays Fall Guys with @twosips or changing his Instagram username.
Crikey, you’re onto it too? It looks like he’s changed his Instagram name and removed the 10.

Messi’s dad is now following him so I assume he’s privately messaged Kun during his meeting with Bartomeu and told him El Barto can go fuck himself and to remove the number 10 from his username as little Leo will rocking up to Ashton New Road any day now.

We're onto something here mate, it must have been in the last half hour this has happened.

It's about the Messi transfer, it belongs in the Messi transfer thread.

Nothing is going to happen for hours, and when it does, the dozens of posts about any new developments will bury any financial talk.
It is boring , there is a thread created for the ten foot long posts on the financial side

Hope this helps

The post was about sponsors - it couldn't be clearer. Of course, if you include the Puma kit deal then we don't generate 80% from Abu Dhabi. Do you want a prize for that? Do you think I can't calculate 65/227?

But I've reconsidered. You are right. We obviously can simply generate any amount necessary to sign Messi. Just get some of the non Abu Dhabi sponsors that have been lurking in the shadows to pay for him and rip up the Puma contract. Problem solved. Thanks for setting me straight.
