Thats only true recently. In years gone by we spunked massive ammounts of money on utter garbage who we didnt sell for a profit because they were complete shite. Lee bradbury springs to mind

City could be doing better at this but when I look at some of the deals other clubs have managed for the dead wood(or flops) it does make me question if certain clubs could be cheating FFP by paying part of the fee. Chelsea and Liverpool are prime examples. There's talk of Chelsea "willing" to sell Kepa if they get a good offer. It wouldn't surprise me if a big offer did come in despite being desperate to offload him.
