So they've given themselves planning permission for lorry parks, and the list of places they could go include Cheshire East (a long way from any port), Trafford and Salford but not Manchester. And they could go in the green belt.

The things we have to do to demonstrate the political will to be utterly stupid.
I'm guessing they know where the potential sites are, as many places near ports aren't included on the list - none of the Merseyside authorities except Liverpool itself.

No idea what that signifies but maybe the Cairnryan lorry park is coming to a green belt location near you.

I'll be back on the phones soon to Tory voters near the one in our constituency.

You get it, you would just rather not admit to it Vic ;-)

Enjoy the phone time with that one Tory voter..........how the hell did they manage to gain such a huge stonking majority when no one ever votes for them?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the "Get Brexit Done" message resonated with far more than your own, lovely I am sure, telephone calmness that probably always ends in them putting the phone down or you screaming obscenities at them for daring to disagree.

‘Get Brexit Done?’ Would that be the ‘oven ready deal’ per chance? Did Johnson forget to turn the oven on?

Arf.

Deal.....no deal.....meh.

For what its worth i've always said a deal will be agreed and still do but if the EU don't want to budge on certain things, a scenario you fully support then i'm all for the British Government doing the exact same thing and will fully support it.

Well done on the single post on Messi last night as well ;-)

I too think there will be a deal. It will still involve us building lorry parks and heaping red tape and admin burdens on UK businesses but that is the price of erecting trade barriers.

As for ’no deal’, well even those pushing the idea are only doing so on the basis we can weather the first few months and then go back to the EU with hope in our hearts but zero leverage. Sooner or later we have to do a deal. Only question is do we do it now or later.

Oh, and the WA will still be in force if we don’t do a deal. EU have already banked that win. I see Mr Baker has been complaining again about the WA in the Telegraph today. Guess he should have read it before he voted for it. Ah, well.

But have you any good news about how how things are going?

Thought not.

Exactly. The EU concession on fishing won’t amount to much but it will be trumpeted as a huge triumph for Brexit Britain to counter our concessions on LPF and state aid.

the thing with fishing, in the grand scheme of things is its quite a small industry, it always was even in its hayday. but its being hailed as some massive country saving thing.

Life is good, business is good, my family are healthy and we are busy trying to sign the worlds best player.

Oh and we have left the EU.

Happy as I am.
It wasn’t a question about your personal circumstances. The clue is in the thread title.

And your life would be shit if we'd stayed in the EU?
