To everyone blaming Messi for "not having big enough balls" this isn't SimCity where you can just do whatever the hell you want. The more money you make, the more revenue that is attached to you has a direct correlation to just how tangled the legal and logistical web one has to untie to break away from that entity. If he'd have praised the club and in a week has an extension I'd speak differently but all in all I think he stepped through the hoops he could to try and make a move happen. If Barca let him ride it out and he's walking away free next late spring... I believe they are making a huge mistake based on who and pride.

I have no issue with him deciding to stay. My disgust is at the things he said about the club he loves, while saying he has no choice but to stay. shocking

So, who do we go for now then?

Still need a CB, LB and I'll keep banging the drum for us to get a new Defensive Midfielder.

A partnership of Gundogan and Rodri again will meltdown this forum more than Messi staying.

I kind of hope Messi & Barca will fail in the group stage of CL in this season. That would be a much bigger failure than the 8-2 vs Bayern.
God I hope they get the group of death. Bayern-Barca-Inter-Monchengladback maybe..

That's impossible sadly but Benfica and Marseille may not be.

Yes he has said the board are shit and he loves the club, but you don't say the shit about your family being distraught at the idea of moving if you are still trying to leverage a move.

The optimism on here is inspiring, but its just going to look awkward on October 6th when we haven't signed any of our remaining targets and Messi is still in Barcelona. Hopefully the board see this for what it is.
