That sums it up for me.
Misses the point for me. Completely wrong.
That sums it up for me.
So why do you think he has stayed then?Misses the point for me. Completely wrong.
as much as I would have liked him to play for us I firmly believe he is a one club man, given what he feels for Barca I'd actually wonder how well he would play for another club
one thing that hasn't been mentioned is regarding him losing a court case, it all seems to be down to him not wanting to take Barca to court at all and this is where he has proven that he just doesn't have the willpower to actually leave them. If he really did and things were as bad as he claims then he could end this two ways with court or the webster rule but he just hasn't got it in him to push it through
hopefully from our side now we back away from this, if we pay the money being talked about we are just mugs, if we wait for him to sign in January then we are even bigger mugs as he will find a way to not go through with it again, he is better just waiting for a new president and then signing a new contract with Barca
I hope someday we will stop trying to be nice and please people that will never accept our club and what we do, we still need to toughen up and become more ruthless in how we operate
its always been between Messi and Ronaldo as the best player of this generation, I'd have always gone with Messi but the simple fact is that he doesn't back himself to make it anywhere other than Barca, he will always find a way to stay there.
my other annoyance with this is employees of City so concerned about Barca, I don't care about their history with that club, they work for and are well paid by us and should be thinking more about us than hurting barca's feelings

Because, and he literally said this about 50 times on camera, the club won't let him leave. So why do you think he has stayed then?
So why do you think he has stayed then?
I would guess that Barcalona have said they will take him to court and he doesn't want that for the sake of waiting a few months. So why do you think he has stayed then?
Well that is right and wrong isn't it. There are measures he can take to ensure that happens but he has also stated publically that he cannot take the club he loves to court.Because, and he literally said this about 50 times on camera, the club won't let him leave.
Family is still an important factor.
Agree with a lot of that, however I see the pursuit of Messi as being more about our owners than Pep, Txiki and Ferran.as much as I would have liked him to play for us I firmly believe he is a one club man, given what he feels for Barca I'd actually wonder how well he would play for another club

Those measures would take too long. He has done the only thing open to him and done it very well.Well that is right and wrong isn't it. There are measures he can take to ensure that happens but he has also stated publically that he cannot take the club he loves to court.
I hope your right. Just reads to me like he's made his decision to stay, new president next year, Xavi as manager, possibly 1 year new deal then back to Newell's old boysNo if you listen he is saying he wanted to leave so badly that he was even prepared to upset his family. That hasn’t changed.
He is showing people the lengths he is prepared to go to to get out not saying he has changed his mind.
The idea is to create the picture of a shambles of a club that anyone would want to leave or consider joining because it’s that bad.
Of course but he mentioned family to demonstrate how strongly he felt about leaving not that he had changed his mind. The whole point has been lost on some posters.
Indeed - seems like that whole point has been lost on some posters too.His family don't seem that convinced with the move going off the interview
Fair point but I do still challenge anyone to look their kids and mrs in the faces and tell them they are moving away from friends and family because dad has got a new job for 2 years and see them break down and have no regretsThose measures would take too long. He has done the only thing open to him and done it very well.
The bit about loving the club is for the fans.
